I'm some sort of "computer specialist" in my family, so all my relatives and friends come to me if they have a problem. Unfortunately they don't sell those "No, I won't fix your computer"-shirts anymore.. :/
However, #1 problem is called "Acer". Especially because of overheating (My cousin bought himself an Aspire with a core i7 CPU about a year ago. That machine gets up to 110°C before it crashes and he sent it to Acer already 3 times because of that).
I can only give you the advice to not buy a laptop with the intention to play on it, because if you really want a device that's able to serve nowadays games and features decent quality (and support - Acer's support is nearly as bad as no support at all...) you pay about 1500 euros.
