Slow/missing animations

While this isnt strictly a bug, i thought this was probably the most appropriate place to ask. For the past 3 months i've been playing on a laptop in the USA on the NA servers, my ping has been around 25-30 most of the time and the game ran perfectly.

I recently came home to the UK to vastly inferior internet (1mb, around 60-90 ping ) and now I have a problem whereby it seems animation dont always run. For example, when feinting, the feint itself registers but it only shows the last 1/4 second or so of the animation. Also, when blocking, the animation doesnt always switch to the correct block direction as quickly as it should/did. This is incredibly annoying and makes it near impossible to go 1 on 1 with anyone with a tiny amount of skill since im never really sure whether my actions are actually happening in game or whether they are simply not showing.

I assume this issue is simply down to lag but my question is - Is there anything that i can do to solve this issue aside from move somewhere i can get better internets? Also, does anyone else have this issue and is it widespread?

Yep, this is simply down to lag. Especially if you're used to 20-30 ping (which is incredible). I had two months of bad ping - around 100 - and I remember nothing acted as it should. Not feints, blocks were delayed or wrong, tap attacks seemed like I actually held the attack... Now I'm back to about 50 ping and it's fine. So yeah, for me, 90 ping was already unplayable.

Yea 20 ping really is unbelievable, i was regularly topping the scoreboard with massive kd's, everything is so much smoother, now i barely go 1:1. i dont remember it being this bad before when i had this ping but thats probably because i was used to it.

This is an issue that appears to me as well sometimes. It will reduce your performance.

The trick is getting so used to the animations and speed of your weapon, that you won't need to watch it happen.

Playing a shielder with a fast shield (speed 100) is good for pings 70-100 too, if you feel like respeccing.

Welcome to my world. Still, you should be able to pretty well with it, once you're pretty well adjusted to it. However, you will be very frustrated at some points.

I never used to notice that much as cav, which i played for 4 gens but as a 2 hander its really really noticeable. Im just going to respec to archer/xbow or cav again.

ye same thing i usualy have around 20 ping.
but once i had to play with 60ping , i couldnt do anything.
