So I have 50mb broadband, I can download at literally 5mb/s and have no problems with ping on other games. However, recently whenever I join a server on cRPG, my ping spikes from about 80 to 300 every few seconds. I have checked every other program and made sure nothing is downloading, the only programs I use are ventrilo and teamspeak and even closing those programs doesn't help. Could this be something to do with the way cRPG sends character data to the website? My upload speed is pretty weak and I have a feeling this is the cause of my lag.

Nothing? I am completely certain it is cRPG that is causing it, since I've tried closing every other program. Even when I minimize the game, my ping goes back to normal, but the moment I fullscreen it again, my pint shoots back up.

depends, were your live, the closer you live to a server the better the ping.
also try to go into "configure" on the first screen where you choose mods and play game..., then video options and unclick the "load textures on demand" button, maybe it helps a little.

Since now you no longer need to exit server for exp/stats/new items to update/show it's causing a slight rise in ping to everyone, I don't notice much the higher ping most of the times dunno you ppl tough.

have been quite horrible lag spikes... im kind of guessing part of them are really lag spikes and part could be caused by my computer running to side of virtual memory.

stuff like my attacks just freezing... as in i tap my mouse button to attack, my char raises hand then nothing for second or so while i look at enemy starting his/her attack and goes tru with it, without my attack ever even really starting.

Did you test all the servers?
I sometimes get the problem with the official ones (eu 1,2,3,5 and 6) showing me a ping of 50-100ms, but feeling way more laggy. Also, lagspikes there, that all the players on the server fell (atleast those in my ts). If they are in this state, I usualy switch to the pecores servers (eu4s) and get my normal 15-20ms.

It's on every server, I mostly play on EU4 Siege and have tried playing on other servers, but it's the same for every one. I also live in the UK and my ping to all the EU servers used to be fine until the way stats are updated changed.
