If you do this I would finally respect archers :-)

Of course you could always put a bit of tape on your monitor.. But if you're that much of a pussy, I don't see the problem.

Maybe couple that removal with a buff somehow.. :-D

Are you ready for the challenge? (try it out in Vikingr, it's just about training to get used to it.)

Im all for this for throwing, but with the current state of archery I do not think it would be worth it.

Actually I think it would be viable to remove crosshair; but with that a high power bow e.g Longbow at ranges of a few dozen meters should be able to penetrate plate armor :P

Buff archery a bit in return.

Anyway, it's easy to add it back in for the guys who knows how to. But the devs of Vikingr said:

Only if forcefield around shield is completely removed and shields have to be manually directed at incoming fire. Also if the rider of a horse cannot cover the full horse.

Use first person view, manually tape the new "mechanical crosshair" to your screen, there you go.

Far too easy to circumvent. Seriously, whoever needs more than 2 minutes to figure out how to get the crosshair working again for Vikingr is probably a console gamer.

trust me, you dont want this for throwing. Im assuming you think throwers are too powerful, this would come with a buff, and throwing is so inaccurate getting rid of the crosshairs wouldn't really do anything. All you would see is throwers getting even more powerful.

I don't believe it until I see it, but let's see if the Vikingr devs manage to make it much harder to software cheat, or impossible/too difficult.

The old bit of tape on the monitor will always work I guess, but I hope most archers would.. in time.. grow some balls, in stead of stains on their monitors.  (I mean it must be a mess to take in on and off everytime you play cRPG, then fine tune and adjust it lol.  :-)

Let's wait and see I say.

(And I actually do believe most cRPG players would not do such things. The fun thing about this mod is that it's hard, and a there are not so many "powerplayers" abusing the most OP thing at any one time. Most start out like that, then find it boring..)

I have an archer alt and I hate playing it now.  Sure take off the crosshair but add damage to arrows and bows, I am all for it.

Heh, I already have tiny pieces of blu-tack for marking the centre screen and at 1cm intervals beneath for judging elevation; it makes things easier. Removing the reticule wouldn't make much difference to throwers, so I doubt it would to archers either.

I couldn't hit anything! lol..
However I agree with the statement above that states: "It will make it much harder to software cheat"
That is because all the other archers will suck besides that 1 guy who can hit anything from spawn... :D

Wait up... How the hell did they counter window mode and a simple mask/overlay? Didn't know you could disable window mode.

Gameplay-wise... can't say I'd mind not having a crosshair... i got a graphs bug, parts of it usually disapear, for high speed horse archery doesn't hurt that much... now xbowman and foot archers will not like it untill they adapt. (Age of Chivalry, HL2 mod, had bows, xbows and javelins without crosshairs, last two never figured their arcs out, but my bow was good enough to hit a tincan at something close to 100 meters. Archers in M&B will be doing better that that.
