Honeslty first i liked the idea of people being able to heirloom stones. But when you think about it they are already kinda OP. If a high enough level can kill or significantly damage anyone on the battlefield with the cheapest weapon, then it's to good
And should defiantly not be able to heirloom  8-)

Any class can damage anyone on the battlefield with the cheapest weapons.
So with PT >10 stones become simple too effective

A sling, or any other dynamic weapon would require a ton of coding to implement. Why do you think native doesn't have any flails in it?

Well they could have an animation like in Rome: Total War. Would that work?

Never played the game, but think about it this way: when you run with a weapon, it stays together. Your long sword isn't going to wobble around like jelly. This is because weapon models in game are designed as solid objects. These objects are static.

Enter the sling.

A sling is pretty much a strap of leather with an appropriately sized fitting area for your rock. Leather is NOT solid like a metal sword or a polearm. Leather is flexible and reacts to gravity. It is dynamic.

Warband does not handle dynamic weapons. There are no weapons currently that are dynamic.

Is it impossible to program in dynamic weapons? During the later stages of beta, taleworlds purchased the rights to the Havok physics engine. This is the same physics engine used in Halo 3 and Half Life 2. The Havok engine does support dynamic weapons. However, a lot would need to be done to implement it into warband.

Taleworlds did not program in these weapons because of the sheer number of manhours it would take to implement it into their game. It is not a simple change of attack animation. This would require new running physics (leather bobbing when they run,) new hit animation (what happens when they get hit with they are using the weapon?) and block animations. This would require the sling reacting to gravity and the environment around the player.

Making dynamic weapons in warband would require an entire team in itself to implement. I doubt chadz is willing to do that by himself.

Weird that the damage goes down at last upgrade.

But anyway, gonna heirloom these 3 times on my thrower (I_have_stones).  None of the other weapons seemed worth heirlooming besides Lances.

Btw running around with $30k in armor and 4 stacks of rocks, or 3 and a 2 hander, rocks!  (Pun fully intended)

Should probably put the base damage in comparison:

Stones

Speed: 97
Ammo: 12
Damage: 11 Blunt

The slightly decreased damage on the last upgrade is because you have several stones added to your bag. We used to have only an increased ammo amount before the last changes in heirlooms, so it's still better than before.

Our demands have been answered and the oppression has ended. Now just a ton of time till I can actually heirloom them, since I went from 4 heirlooms to 1 with the patch, and the robe must always take first priority.

So I've been greatly enjoying the benefits of my Masterwork Stones for a while now. Also I've found they become far more deadly at great heights. Anyone else have some great experiences with the one throwing weapon still worth using.

As for the stones. I have a dedicated thrower i used a huskarl shield and Some rocks and a steel pick. Since the recent patches i cant use the huskarl shield or afford the pick all i can use is rocks. How unfortunate.
PK is back

Yes, it was epic. I was peasanthunting as usual, when I found a lot of them standing in some place I was laughing madly. But then some shining knight comes to protect them. So he hunts and kills me. He looks back to the peasants and rides into the sunset and lets them handle the plated 2h running after them by themselves.
