You are simply proving my point. You are doing something wrong as cav.  Me or other veteran NA cav players usually get the first 5 kills every match, all couches, then proceed to kill everything else, nearly every round.  Charging head on or into ranged spam is just being bad at the game.  You out lance a cav or two then couch some guy AFK running to the battle, loop to the spawn to kill all the AFK's and late spawners, then go and couch some more on your way back to supporting infantry, then you just steal kills with lance thrusts in the backs of people dueling, and murdering every exposed archer.  There you go, master cav tactics

no that's just collecting kills about noob cav wandering the map, people afk (maybe for a pee), zero-awareness people. master cav tactics? no. you do that in native TDM where skill level is at the bottom. try that in a battle where above-average skilled players gather and good luck.

i highly discourage killing afk´s at spawn.  it ruins the fun for your fellow players and is in no way satisfying unless youre pimmel  size is dependent on your kill score.

oh and can be painful. time ago, i was in a battle. i died, and i gone to roll a cig. when i came back to the pc, the round was already starded, i heard a horse coming towards me at full speed. i put the headphones up, lolstab, cav dead. poor guy.

couching is great against heavily armored targets. These are usually slow and have a harder time dodging you.
It's also great against the heavy horses that take a lot of stabbing to kill without a couch. Keep in mind couch damage is dependent on your speed relative to your target. Even on a champ courser at full speed, a plated charger riding away from you will take almost no damage from a couch. Also heavily armored inf running away from you can easily survive a couch lance in the back.
I usually reserve my couch for unawares or shielders, since many shields are one shot by a couch. Like i said, its also useful for taking out heavy cav, but they will usually dodge if they see you coming.
