Weapon - ground collision perhaps?

Oh i thought that already was in. I don't see the problem without the collision though.

Never seen a pikeman/2h thrusting into the ground then tilting his cam upwards to inflict full damage at facehug range ?

Hm, no, i've only seen them rotating, strange

. However i can understand that that is annoying.

And i do not see any reason not to add it in.
