do i need to train something? Or do i need to be a certain level?

I have literally just started playing ;) what do you mean by "Powerdraw, archery WPF." i am the biggest noob at the game

So, you go to your character page.

What I mean with Power Draw, is one of the main skills over there in the List, where you can assign points.

To use a bow, you must check what difficulty your bow has.

The most basic Short Bow, has a difficulty of one. This means that you must assign one of your points into Power Draw skill to use it.

Also, to be able to hit something later on, (don't expect lots of kills from a low lvl archer) You will have to put points into archery, on the same screen.

Of course, you might wonder how to make your build, so that you won't fail at the "endgame" stage.
Nowadays this is a lot easier than a year ago, you can just respec if you mess up, or whatever.

Regarding builds, I'm not really an archery player, so this is where the Guides section might help you more.

So much hate. You have to raise powerdraw which needs 3 points of strength for every point.

Every skill in power draw not only makes you able to use bows, it also increases the damage by 14% each point!

However, you will notice that you have a big reticule ( accuracy). To make this smaller, you need to spend WPF ( Weapon PRofiency Points ) in archery. Doing so allows to have a better accuracy, plus a little faster draw speed. However you only get so much WPF from levelling up.

There is a skill, weapon master (WM) which gives alot of WPF. You can only spend a skill point in it each 3 agility.


This makes it so you have to choose between damage and accuracy.

And I always thought PD increased damage by 14%, wtf...

Also, how many wpf points do one need not to be penalized, in archery ? Anyway, the real amount you need to be at least not shooting backwards is higher.

PS is 8%, PT is 10%, PD is 14% anyone else is a liar or outdated.

You also need 14 wpf per point in PD in order to actually shoot like you have that PD. Remember that weight lowers your WPF and as a safe bet do not exceed 7lbs for armour (double gloves triple helm) unless you have a boatload more wpf then you need. At least 130wpf is needed for adequate short range shooting. 150 wpf is needed for anything properly far ranged and for reliable headshots.

 Use the strongbow for all-purpose shooting as it is the best for that. If you want to specialize in shooting heavy armour users then choose a longbow. If you want to specialize against long distance headshots or anti-horse operations then use Rus Bow (Far superior to long bow as the average horse has an armour rating less then 27 which is when the LongBow becomes competitive due to using Pierce not cut).
