The "night" thing was a great idea. Helps those people who have lives and responsibilities and other shit--not that I'm one of those people, of course.
The issue of time is one which seems to plague most real-time online games, particularly ones with large multinational communities. Alas, this issue is often deliberatly taken advantage of by players who care more about winning than allowing other players to have fun too. I fucking hate it when I hear "herp derp gonna scheduel a battle at 0300 so they can't defend therselves".
People won't stop thinking this way, of course, and the chances of us seeing the opposite idea become popular--that one should go out of ones way to scheduel a battle in which as many players as possible can participate--are tiny, what with people being the way they are.
