I hope it won't end up like BF2 where AA batteries were useless, and you couldn't take out an enemy heli with rockets because they did unrealistic manouvers, like turning the heli upside down.


It was a long time ago when I played BF, so I don't know how BC2 plays out.

Tbh it looks very much like BC2, but with jets. But that's epic enough to tempt me into buying the game, I used to play Quake Wars Enemy Terrirtory, flying the aircraft and knocking enemy aircraft out, especially as the strogg fighter was epic fun.

wtf man aa batteries were fucking awesome in that game. all you have to do is locking on an aircraft and then waiting for it to drop its flares. when the flares are gone fire the rocket and profit most noob pilots drop and waste their flares immediately when they hear the lock alert  such panic..

Ah, no.

9 out of 10 pilots would give you no chance to even lock on, because they constantly destroyed batteries and vehicles on their way.


Of course BF2 is an old and buggy game, so this discussion is quite irrelevant. Also I've heard from an alpha test video that they FINALLY fixed the hit registration, at least in alpha, the shots actually register, and don't disappear. This was a big problem with every BF game, even Bad Company 2.

I'm going to be trying out Battlefield 3 at gamescom either tomorrow or one of the following days, going to be my first impression of the game - didn't get an Alpha even with high veteran status - since Jets are the 'big reveal' for the event I hope to get some airtime in them, so hopefully not too many will be camping the runways ;)
