I used to go 4 IF and 0 WM, but the damage loss was too noticeable. Interestingly, I die in the same average number of hits whether I have 0 or 4 IF. Probably because I wear lighter armor.

At 7 shield skill, really the only time my shield breaks is when I'm playing siege and I don't die during the round. To be fair though, I always put it away when fighting shield breakers.

My first boots were actually Mail Chausses. I decided I didn't like how they looked and switched to Leather Boots. Way back when they reduced the force field, I switched to Iron Greaves because I was worried about getting shot in the leg. That never really happened, so I switched back to Leather Boots. One day after retiring I decided to find a new pair of boots. I really liked how the Ankle Boots looked and have been wearing them ever since. I pretty much never get hit in the legs anyway, so armor doesn't really matter.

I originally chose it because of how it looked, but it's really a great sword. Good length, good speed, good cut, good pierce. It's not great at anything, but it's a good all-around weapon.

Best 1h blunt weapon in the game in my opinion. It's got good length, good damage, good speed and good weight. I always put my shield away when fighting shield breakers and I don't get weapon stunned while using this thing. It also has a good chance of knockdown and I surprise a lot of people with its damage.

Round shields have the best coverage. With enough shield skill, this thing won't break and is fast enough to block anything. It's also heavy enough to where the only thing that ever shield stuns me is a strength user with a bar mace using held attacks.

It is hilariously easy to do well with this build. Almost effortless to top the charts with it. I wear heavy plate, so I can take a lot of hits before dying. With 1-handers being shorter and being lower weight, there's not that much of a reduction to movement speed even while wearing plate. It's certainly fast enough for battle/siege.

I've been using the broad 1-h battle axe with it, but I think it would be even better with a military cleaver. Shields break fast enough with 9 PS and a high damage cut weapon anyway. Also, held left swings to the head with a broad 1-handed battle axe and 9 PS do a shit-ton of damage.

The only times I've had issues with this build was when dueling good 2-handers. Since it's harder to avoid kicks, I have to switch to a stabby 1-hander.

The fact that it's so easy to get high scores with this build really shows the discrepancy between agi and str. I really have to work for my points on my balanced main, not so much with this guy. Movement speed penalties REALLY need to be changed from a percentage-based reduction to a flat reduction.

27/12 is also a great build if you want to use a shield. Drop 4 IF/WM for 4 shield skill and get heavy armor, a Plate Covered Round Shield (or Heavy Kite/Norman) and a nice weapon with high damage and good length (Military Cleaver, Arabian Cavalry Sword or Nordic Champion's Sword). Very effective.

I really don't like to stick with one playstyle. My current build plays cav, xbow, hx, and regular polearm. I'm growing rather un-fond of crossbows, and I did bows my first gen and didn't care much for it, so I'm thinking about throwing. I've got a STF that used throwing/1h and it is pretty fun, but I definitely couldn't do a dedicated Chucky_Tosser style thrower. Only thing I'll miss about my current build is the 7 riding. I like being able to jump on any horse.

I like the jack-of-all-trades idea a lot, and I don't mind not being particularly powerful in any one area. I'm used to it since all of my builds thus far have been hybrids. I think this build will allow me to throw if I want, go hoplite if I want, regular pole if I want, piker, lancercav(my old friendcav) if I want, throwercav if I want, and so on. I also think it's easier to pick up throwing weapons in comparison to being an xbow hybrid and hunting for an xbow to use if not spawning with one.

If it turns out I like this setup, I may roll with it to lvl 32 or even 33 to try for a Veteran title.

I'm actually a second gen . I m a two hander and like it but i'm not sure of what should be my build. My first one was a 21 18 it was nice but my damage was low. I hesitate about a 24 15 or 27 18. Any advice about it ? Actually i use a Miaodao it seems to be a nice weapon but i need any advice about good choice of weapon or your preference. After retiring ,I will trade my 2 loom points for a weapon so i need to do the good choice.I have two set of armor light with strange armor set(12lbs) and heavy with heraldic transitionnal(28lbs).
  I'm really new (like 12 or 13 days ) so your advices are recommended :-p

Another point was my hesitation about a pure 2H build and an hybrid Thrower. Is it really effective? When you suppose hybrid you suppose average in two skills instead of good in one but i'm not sure :-p

Last question , polearm seems really effective (i tried sometimes Bec de Corbin , Great long axe and great long bardiche) but not even played than two handed any explanation about it ? Too slow or just harder to efficiently use cause i'm not sure to play and use a two hand the next gen ?

I'm sorry, but why would you go for 6 IF instead of putting 1 additional skillpoint to riding? 5 IF and 7 riding looks really better to me, because it allows you to ride some nasty arabian pony which is quite useful for 1h/cav.



By the way, my lvl 34 build (it's what I'm going for):

8 PS, 6 ath/shield/WM, 3 IF, full 1h wpf.

Not really original build, I think a lot of people do same as shielders.
Atm I'm lvl 31 (24-18), and it feels really nice. Feel some lack of wpf though, having 113 atm.

I don't see how your damage could be low with 7 PS and Miaodao, but if you really want more strength-oriented build I would suggest 24-15 (27-15 at lvl 33).
I don't think hybridizing 2h and throwing is a good idea, because those two classes can't complement each other. I mean, as 1h-shielder you can use throwing with shield or even use throwing axes in melee mode just like any other 1h weapon, same for polearms and jarids. With 2h you can't. But it's just a theoretical advise from a person who never tried such build, so don't rely on it too much, it is really up to your preferences. So if you want that - try such build on "skip the fun" character and see if it's good or not.
As for polearms, they have lower range and their sideswings are sometimes hard to control. I mean, I personally teamhit quite a lot when using polearms (im noob at using them though).
