Viking vs Samurai was a good and very close match up from real episodes.

I assume you are being ironic here. However there is a guy who has devoted countless hours and posted several youtube clips on how poorly the viking vs samurai episode was executed. Quite amusing to watch as he seems to take it as a personal insult that the samurai won. He has some skills though, both in SCA fighting and with real weapons and his facts are true aswell so its quite educational actually.

To OP this is a great idea! Must be the same type of pseudo-science involved though or it will not be that Deadliest Warrior feeling. A lot of material can be found in the game balancing forum so it would not be too much work.

Male v woman character - female character gets cleaver, male character either gets wooden stick or the studded warclub (whichever looks more like a baseball bat).  Man gets white tunic, woman gets peasant dress (has apron).

We can call it the husband-beater/wife-beater contest and see which is the deadlier sex.

Well the program was a fail that it had to mach up the two 'warriors' each episode. They did do a ton of scientific experiments with the weapons and techniques and that's why I watched and loved it. They should've just focused on that. You can never really know what 'type' of warrior is the best because each individual is different and each scenario is different. On that note there is no "deadliest warrior"

Watch the latest episode, even the whole cast know it's bias. I quote "85% for the Americans, is that a surprise?" "Not really its an American show".
