Orange and a Black tunic over mail maybe? I dont know how to do it, but it seems fairly simple seeing the model is already present.

Doubt that you can name any orange dye used in medieval times. Also Orange is not in the Heraldry colour's list.

But I have nothing against black.

Whole reason I wanted orange tunic over mail, Dutch American and proud of it, Dutch last name too.

EDIT: Considering we have 16th-17th century items I doubt orange would stick out like a sore thumb.
