Just gonna point out that there was ONE alliance who actually DECLARED a war before attacking. Isn't that honourable?

That just means they had overwhelming force against a group already in the middle of a war so they could easily declare a war and take their time, since it would not be closely contested (no one knew the spawn glitches for attackers would play out so heavily). Also it was EU attacking EU so ping differences were not such a huge impact that giving advance notice would allow heavy reinforcement in villages that would provide the protective equivalent of defending a castle with 200+ vs 50- ping for extra thousands of troops.
Grey Order also gave notice to OOTL, but they were attacking with overwhelming force against a small clan.
