1h Sword against Cavalry

What can i do only with 1h sword against a horseman who attacks towards me in high speed?

Best solution is to just dodge him. Second solution would be to bring some cheap polearm with you like boar spear. Third solution is to try and jump and stab him but that will kill him only if he misses his thrust since he has more reach then you. Fourth solution is to unequip your shield and block down untill he gives up trying to kill you or messes up and you hit him.

Jump stabbing has some special tricks to it, where you can ensure getting into the safe zone away from their lance... But that is best shown by watching some really good 1handers. Hard to explain in text.

The best you can do against 1cav is stabbing. Against lancers just avoid him or wait to make a mistake and stab the horse at the head; doing this you hit both, horsemen and horse.

Against a  lancer:
If he couch his lance just dodge with side jump
If he only stab and don't couch: side jump + overhead

Against a 1h cav
If you have very low health, stab: you will kill the horse and it won't bump you.
Most of the time right swing if you have a long 1h (100+ in length) or stand still and overhead swing when he is in the maximum range of your weapon (aim for the head of the horse)

A trick which work against most of 1h cav is running in the opposite direction of the cav and when he is in range turn fast and swing.

Also, if the 1h cav uses an arabian cav sword and does a right side swing + left turn you pretty much can't outreach him to kill the horse. Skilled ones will use the maximum range of their weapon and you're forced to block. Then they will either move on to a different target or return and bump/slash you.

stand directly infront of the horse and thrust stab directly into the horses face.  This will work 66% of the time.  Make sure to thrust earlier than you think, as horses hitbox is quite large

If the cav is heading straight towards you, a sidestep and a left to right slash to the horses face is possible. Usually, it'll drop unarmoured horses in one shot.

You'll only get this chance though if the cav is either a) stupid or b)unaware you're aware hes behind you ( using the tilde key) c)you're awesome and have controlled positionning very well

This works occasionally but your even more likely to get lanced than standing in front of the horse...especially if your attack doesnt kill the horse

I killed many cav with my Eslavona, just stab the horse and then kill him. Its not that hard.

Stab the ever living fuck out of the horse head, laugh as you kill armored horses in a hit thanks to their own speed used agaisnt themselves.
