Protect the village?

What happened to the protect the village mod? It was real fun to organize the group and fin a strategy to defend the village as best as possible, standing in the door with shields in 2 handed, the protect the virgin mod annihilate all sort of strategy as there seems to be only a flat ground and enemies coming everywhere you can just do your best... This mod seems boring without strategy... proof: there isn't almost anyone playing it yet, and I don't think the idea of reducing even more the earnings in xp and gold that were already too low more helped in any way...

I'd prefer if players could direct the target, like Native battles, or if the target of assassination were randomly assigned as one of the defending players.

The assassination is a fix to people abusing the AI. It was a simple matter to get a x5 and then climb up onto something where melee can't get you, and you can shelter from ranged and pick them off slowly over the entire round, thus maximising your XP and abusing the AI.

If the target were a player, same thing would happen. However, if you could command the virgin to follow you so you can at least run into a building or narrow way where you have the advantage versus a huge swarm... then we'd be cooking.

Perhaps remove the ability to jump?  Or, also, place round time limits where players must destroy every NPC before the timer runs out.

You do have to kill them all, it was just an easy way because if you went up something with steps, the NPC's came in one at a time and when there were 6 of you standing there with pointy objects, you made rather quick work of the wave, even if it was a difficult one.

Would be an idea if it were an openish field, save for maybe some fences or something to duck behind out of crossbow fire and then have the player be the VIP and do something like CS did and standardise their armour, health, movement and weapon so that it doesn't randomly give a new player that dies in 1 hit VIP or the player you're crutching on.

Few ideas for it anyways, probably should throw these in the suggestions forum since DTV is fun when you want a while of mindless bot killing.

I rarely play it mostly because of how crappy the rewards are. You are bound to lose money even with quite simple gear.
