Is retiring actually worth it?

There is a long grind between lvl 30 and 31, in fact its just as long from 0-30. I dont really think its worth retiring for a +1 modifier and xp/gold bonus. I think neither matter. For one a good player doesn't need good equipment to play well and secondly a xp/gold only helps if you plan on lvling up and retiring again. Considering that retiremnt doesnt help good players I cant see myself or anyone sane retiring. In retrospect i think that most ppl will simply never retire leading to servers full of lvl 30/31 players with no low lvls. tell me what you think of retiring and how it could be improved.

It's edge over others. Try fighting against someone with weapon heirloomed 3 times, even if he have one or two leveles less.

I would retire every possible time.

my advice is this;

make a character you like to play

play with this char and have fun

DONT LOOK AT THE XP BAR (it's only there to agonize you once you're lvl 30)

eventually u will hit 31 and u can decide to retire or not - getting your char to a playable level doesnt take too long any more

this

The new retirement system is only a benefit to the game imho. It's less about a race to the top and all about playing the game.

It is required to max out a char to have at least a masterwork weapon. It also helps in trying out different builds, for example you can try a str, a agi and a hybrid build and decide which one you like the most.

Another stupid poll. Why do people insist on making bad poll options making the poll useless?

(Yes, it is worth it)

Oh come on.  You know darn well the level 15 retirement is only to re-do a stat fuckup and keep your loot.  Other than that it really doesn't count.
And I should be nice or polite to anyone.... why exactly?
