Afaik, shield + morningstar uses 1h WPF with 30% speed penalty.

Afaik, shield + morningstar uses 1h WPF with 30% speed penalty.

yes, but if you use morningstar on horse but without shield, it will use 2h wpp, but it will still get 30% penalty

In any case, morning star doesn't use polearm wpf.

It's slow, but it's a very hard hitting weapon. With a bit of forward momentum from the horse and high powerstrike, you can one hit almost everything.

The damage of cavalry comes from the speed bonus. The weapon base damage is of low significance and the morning star is as high as you can get (and pierce on top).
Slow swinging weapons even have some advantage for cavalry since the longer you spend in the swing, combined with the movement of the horse creates a larger area in which a target will be hit - think of the extreme case of holding the weapon extended to the side and running with the horse to mow anything that collides with it.

Speed + Pierce = Plate Killer
Morningstar + Slow Horse= Fault

Morning star is decent to learn 1h with..but a good swordsman will get sword hits into enemies head 50% of the time anyways and do a ton of extra dmg...which exceeds what the morningstar does
