goretooth only has a bad rep because of his black armor , otherwise hes pretty good  ,

                               tho skilled people not wearing black armor tear him up  ( 1 vs 1 obviously )

same for my when i used to wear a huscarl , now i wear a 8 body shield and people complain still :p

really then why are the most kills by 2h and polearm? obviusly there is because people  like balbaroath and tankmen are above and beyond any shielders. if there wasnt much to it then every shielder would be up top. im a shielder and terrible

Mostly because they are the only people in NA that really love me, and that's a sign of being the best.

Too many factors and variables.

Level, build, broken game mechanics, fucked up laggy servers, etc.

Most people like the amount of damage and aesthetic value polearms and swords give. Sword and board isn't the most heroic looking playstyle too most i'd imagine. I know when I first started Mount and blade a I thought "to hell with that defense shit, get me a big blade to hack and slash with!"

That said, other noobie shielders would crush me because of the fact they simply needed to wait for the "clank sound" before mounting a counter hit.

Pike fights are always fun. I fight with Adoptagoat with pikes all the time. Don't think he's ever beat me, need to find some better competition. 

While pikes are generally a team weapon, you can do some pretty crazy things with them 1v1

Builds and equipment would need to be controlled somehow. Perhaps different weight classes?

Lulz? i bet when you faced me i was a 30/9 build with heavy armor on. 18/21 is footwork central. Except now in seige every noob spammer has a chance to kill me because i hold too much
