Global bans for DTV exploiters

About an hour ago I banned 9 people for heavily exploiting friendly fire on NA_cRPG_Defend. They gained silly amounts of xp by abusing the bug in xp calculation. This bug was obvious as the in-game message tells the amount of xp gained and it is clear that the amount was abnormal.

I'm not going to post the names here, but each will need to make an individual unban request. Ban duration and possible other measures will be decided based on personal history.

Hello, Espu I was one of the people you banned. I've made an unban request, so you can view it. I just wanted to check if you were working on figuring out the situation that happened on the DTV?

I just went through the server log (spend over 9000 moments of my time doing that ) and found a lot more people abusing the same bug. I split the guilty into two groups, one for those who did it for a long time and spread the knowledge and one for those who just popped in for a short while.

Individual unban requests will still be required. In addition, we are thinking of a fair way to revert the unearned benefits.

There were some people who joined the server but refused to take part in the exploiting. You guys know who you are, many +1's for you.

Was I banned for this?

First of all, it was my friend playing the game for the first time and he had no idea that it was a bug and I was not present when he started doing it.

When I came back to the computer and saw what was happening, I watched and laughed with him because we both thought it was some goofy ass bug and didn't think we were actually getting rewards for it. He left a minute or so later.

I should NOT be banned for this if I am.

Note, this happened yesterday or the day before, I can't remember.

I would suggest a ban from just DVT servers here instead of a global ban. It looks like this is a bit too little of an offense for a total ban.

i was one of em im very srry i just joined the server and people started tking me and i got money for it so i did it bout 10 mins or 20 mins please unban me  ive made uban request it might not make sence cause i didnt know what i did at the  time but know i do:(

yeah and I'm banned cuz my noob friend was playing my char and walked into an exploited DTV server with no idea what was going on, so I'm pretty f*cking ticked off right now.

Well hopefully when if I get a chance to even go on the internet tomorrow I'll find out what's what. I've been refreshing this page every so often for the past 4 hours.

I'll reply to individual unban requests when I have a moment. Most people will get a three day ban + some kind of xp/gold penalty, a few major exploiters get something more.

Cross-posting in each others topics will not do you any good. Everyone is free to argue their case in their own individual topics as per forum rules. As this is sort of a special case, I've been more lenient with posting but it's starting to get totally stupid now.

Stop spamming and wait for a reply. Banned exploiters are not very high on my list of things to do.
