Shashka 1h shield build.

I've found the most optimal weapon for me; the shashka. What is a good build for it and a shield?

why would you want to use it if you werent on horseback?  Scimitar, nordic war or nuiweidao are infinitely better for infantry fighting

96 is just about the bottom of 1h speed.  96 means you'll be outspammed by any fellow 1h'ers and even majority of 2h'ers.

You can't get outspammed by anyone in this game if you just counter attack at the right time.

The weapon is a lot slower though, making your hits that much more obvious.

If I were you I'd go 21/15 with 7 powerstrike. For damage and still 5 shield skill+athletics.

Outspamming is a wrong term, that would mean he could spam you without you being able to even return a hit. That's utter bullshit.

I've used the arabian cavalry sword in the past which was even slower, yet I did good. As well as Daergar who uses it in my clan.

Don't use Shashka on foot. From personal experience: it sucks. It's slow. It's not impossible to use on foot, but its fucking slow and hard to hit a skilled player. Very hard.

Its an amazing weapon for 1h cav, though.

Should be fine if you can feint/hold well. I did fine with the Arabian Cav Sword on foot myself which is even slower.

Same here. Although, the Arabian cavalry sword has the benefit of being longer than any other one handed weapon. The Shiska is fairly short, isn't it? I don't know the weapons well enough... Either way, use what you like, don't do what THE MAN tells you to.

Honestly I've been using the Shashka for the last week and have found it to be a really great sword.  The range on this thing lets you compete with a lot of 2H'ers and the slight curve it has can prove deceptive to a lot of corpses that can vouch for that.  Granted, it is slower than some of the other swords, but I still think it's a pretty solid sword.

You don't have to be a min/max whore, and also not everyone is a pro-spammer mcLeet.

96 speed is slow. LOL. Yeah I agree it can be a bit slow if you have low wpf (low lvl or hybrid) but for anyone with more than 130 it's more than fast enough. I'm currently running around with some 97 speed maces and they are more than fast enough. So if you put all wpf in 1h then it's more than good enough weapon.

Also the shashka is 103 length which is more than a lot of other 1handers. Maybe not the swords but the maces/hammers/axes.

The 101-103 speed is not for spam. Is for hitting fast. I tried all of the top-tier one handed: Knightly, Regular and elite scimitar, long eslavona for a long time. Speed factor and reach is the most important thing for a onehander. If your weapon lack one of both, you will pay for it.

If you want to fight against 2handers/poles, you need both. Lenght and speed. Fighting skilled players with a slow weapon is difficult.

I made a Shashka build as another one of my theme characters using nothing but Rus style gear, worked out pretty well especially at first as people were not used to the massive reach yet on the new weapon. Pretty good weapon for the low cost.

21/15 worked for me, though I stole 5 points out of IF and put it in riding.

As for everyone else, how about you all stop discussing the weapon and instead of acting like power gamers trying to make another "holy shit I'm so original I use a Nordic Champion or spammitar build" actually stay on topic and give the poor guy the advice he is asking for?
