You will want to use light armor (especially head armor) due to WPF reduction. Each point of power throw requires 13 WPF so if you have 6 PT you will need 78 throwing WPF after armor penalty is calculated. My complete armor set weighs 13.1kg and I had to add 28 extra WPF over my minimum to not get the message.

I personally recommend throwing spears and jarids, very accurate and they deal good damage. Throwing lances are only recommended for dedicated throwers with 8 or 9 PT to one-hit kill. Throwing axes are also great but the damage is heavily reduced with good armor.

EDIT: The most popular build is 18/18 for throwing hybrids but there are a few other good ones, experiment with the calculator and see what fits your playing style.

Go with either 21/15 or 18/18, maxing out PS, PT, ATH, and WM. You'll have extra skill points that you can put where you like. Most would probably go with IF.

21/15 if you want more damage and can deal with lower WPF, like 100 2h and 120 throwing.

18/18 if you want to be faster and need higher WPF.
