I don't think anyone really knows. Well, at least I don't.

Amount is your choice. Do not donate if you're after a loompoint tho. Waste of money :P
I've donated 20€ by now (though only 10€ are registered cuz chadz too lazy to fix) and never won anything :P

Each euro you donate gets you one ticket for the lottery. Each week one of the tickets win. The tickets are persistent so if you donate once then you will partake in every lottery from then on. If you decide to donate keep in mind that the chances or winning are very small unless you donate ridiculous amounts of money.
