It's definately more fun with peasants than tincans. For that reason I like high upkeep.
I don't think it is too high... but maybe that is because I've played as a peasant for 95% of the time the last 10 hours... :)

Not necessarily a peasant, but I wear light or medium mail armor quite a bit. Yeah, I've got Corrazina and Gothic Plate, and some weapons are a bit costly, but using that stuff all the time gets pretty tiresome.

Whit the new upkeep cost people on the servers tend to change gear from what multiplier they are getting.

I am not against higher upkeep cost, but atm its failing due to ppl changing to smurf outfits when getting X 1.
So the more ppl do this they are sure there team is loosing, last round now over 60 % of my team where in peasant gear.

another way to threat this is to increase the multiplier itself to maybe x7 or X8 ...

Or item break / repair  at the end of the map cycle...
Or instead of any of this you guys just support my damn thread.

http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,9782.0.html

It fixes this problem completely while maintaining the same upkeep cost(for the most part).

yea upkeep is way too high. Wearing crap gear and lose money sucks...
The things that you own end up owning you.

you been getitng ripped off delro, there going for 450k plus :P

You wanna know the truth, I actually sold a +2 Nordic Champ's Sword for 350k :P Stupid, I know, it was an accident. I meant to ask for that money AND a +1 Steel Pick, but messed up.

Anyway I retired once and +1'd a standard Steel Pick, which I then traded for a +1 Warhammer (which I am loving.) My point still stands; heirlooms are a relatively easy (relatively!) way to make tons of cash. I'm still sitting on a 300k+ surplus.

I'd have more but I spent a lot on trying out various heavy armors, shields, weapons (poles are expensive!) and... well... I bought nearly every hat/helmet in the game...
