Why upkeep fails

Whit the new upkeep cost people on the servers tend to change gear from what multiplier they are getting.

I am not against higher upkeep cost, but atm its failing due to ppl changing to smurf outfits when getting X 1.
So the more ppl do this they are sure there team is loosing, last round now over 60 % of my team where in peasant gear.

another way to threat this is to increase the multiplier itself to maybe x7 or X8 ...

Or item break / repair  at the end of the map cycle...

I really loved c-rpg for the one reason that I could wear whatever I want... with this upkeep everyone is limited to crappy gear and its just like regular warband multiplayer. If people change gear every multiplier that's just like buying an upgrade after losing a round.. petty stupid if you ask me. I loved c-rpg because I only had to get the money once to buy something and could wear it forever from then on. Changing the upkeep so much makes it really hard to adjust every time you just got used to the gear set or weapons. I felt that there was no real reason in the first place to abandon the old money making system because it never was at a point where everyone had plate.. only the people who played long enough to afford it or the people who didn't bother wearing lighter gear to be faster. And what difference does it make if everyone has either crappy gear or plate?.. Id rather look cool with plate than walk around with a gambeson 24/7. The game only really needed some minor tweaks and those nasty plated chargers should have been removed.

PS: still love this mod but I would like to give it my full package of loving

The upkeep sux. New players to this module, like me, are screwed.
How can I ever wear good armor without selling a loom point? Never!

good point you gotta get some kind of savings before actually being able to upkeep some armor without it being broken

The higher upkeep isnt needed.

-New players will stop playing because they cant afford anything good

-Old players with much money on reserver dont have a problem to use good equip every round

-some classes are fucked because of high upkeep like Cav, HA, Archery...

-though with my twohande ror polearm alt im doing fine equip a hightier weapon and some armor(though most of the time only with light clothes, dont need armor when you can block and not only spam your killingthingy) and goes for it...where a archer is bound to use crappy arrows and some midbow without armor or melee weapon...hurray all the whine about archer who run away will be doubled because they cant afford a melee weapon anymore!

naah crpg goes native...playing native atm dont feel much different...

Protip - sell an heirloom. Seriously. Just a +1 for like 300k. No more money troubles!

I only say this because I did it myself and have not had to stop wearing whatever the heck I want (from Mail with Surcoat up to Churburg Cuirass, always holding a Warhammer and Plated Round Shield.) Even after the patch, I haven't had any issues - been breaking about even the whole time. Its just nice to have 300k worth of "padding" for bad streaks :D

The pro tip doesn't work for new players or people still building up that have no heirlooms. Personally I played today like I normally would anyother day and went from 20k to 6k. I even removed my armor time to time and downgraded to some shitty padded. The upkeep is way too much and at this rate I don't think Ill be sticking around.

When you play a game like this you want some type of progression, weither it be slow going from doing badly or moderate from a good day in terms of gold. When people get on and lose 15-20k in one day that doesn't make anyone want to play, infact the opposite. I'd like to point out that I didn't lose much either, had 5x quite a bit but every time that upkeep hit me it didn't matter, that last 2k I gained was gone.

Have to join here, the upkeep on some heavy armors are so high especially when you get ''bad luck''.

It's worse on DTV, unless you use crappy padded armor you will get crappy amounts of gold after a round vs 2k repair costs if you are unlucky.
It's even worse because I can't use it to compensate for my crappy build lol, I'm just trying to crawl towards lvl 31 to retire with heirloom and sell it for some extra cash.

This is a ridiculous idea. If you only want to actually have money is to sell your heirlooms it just migrates more wealth from the new people to the established ones.

Heirlooms are hard-earned, man.  I play the damn game too much, and I'm only gen 3.

I barely wear more than a turban though, so I'm good on upkeep.  Sucks though, you should be able to get silly with the builds.
