Heirloom reset with big changes.

I've had my archer main character since Stategus was first being opened up in limited numbers and until recently I hadn't ever retired. However recently I wanted to adjust the build some and since I was at 31 I decided to retire. So I finally got my only heirloom, a large bag of bodkin arrows, however a couple days later I discover that with the patch bodkins cost 400 in repairs making them pointless to use compared to other arrows. I think anytime major item and build changes are made, we should get heirloom points to respend for every heirloom that we posses. Otherwise it screws over people who one day find that their loomed items that they've worked ages for have been nerfed and replaced with some other similar item. Just a suggestion I think would really help people.

Resetting the heirlooms would be a natural thing after this patch but there is one big problem: the Marketplace. Some have more looms then you could ever get by retiring, people were very active on the market and how could this be solved ? If you take all the looms away that would be a blatant robbery.

You could try trading those arrows.

Looms turn into Loom points, done. No robbery, nothing. Some examples:
2 masterwork items on character --> 6 loom points.
3 masterworks on a gen one character due to gold hoarding and trading --> still 9 loom points.
Gen 8 Guy who sold all his heirlooms for cash --> No loom points.

It would work fine.

Naturally. I was speaking on the assumption of "you get the amount of loom points equal to your generation minus 1", like it was done last time. This solution is about the only one possible but are they willing to do it ? :-)

They always seem to be against heirloom resets, we had to lobby hard -- and everybody was happy to get it. It would be a different thing to code but it shouldn't be anything outside of easy possibility.

On topic,
I am all for heirloom resets with all balance patches. I have never seen a single good argument as to why their shouldn't be.
1) "But everybody will switch to what is OP!"   -- Fixing stuff like that is what balance patches are for. if they fucked up, And rebalance it afterwards, offer another heirloom reset when it is fixed. It makes everything more fun and Spicy You could say. A free respec should be offered as well with major balance changes tbh.
2) No really, the above statement is the only argument other than "we want to punish some small minority for [insert abuse of thing] so we punish everybody."

As said before, this will never ever be possible again. People would just go for lots of looms, not for quality looms. Because they will speculate on another loom reset.

So yeah, it will, never, ever, happen. Trade it :)

People went for the looms in exchange of the gold they earned. Now its very hard to trade with the current nerfed items to the current buffed or unchanged items. It took me a month to grab the items i need, people tend to w8 and do the best trade possible.

chadz i know its irrelevant, but why cant i the aim box is so large on horse now for horse archer? I can hardly aim.Was it just a bug or..

Who are you supposed to trade these arrows to? They have the same repair cost for everybody, which is too high. That's the reason he wants to get rid of them in the first place.

Archers rich enough to not give a shit about repair cost already have their bodkins hierloomed.

No one is going to buy them and this dude is stuck with a garbage hierloom.

"Just trade it" is the dumbest answer. Why is he trading it in the first place? Oh because it sucks. Who the fuck is going to trade for an item that sucks so much they current owner is trying to trade it away. This isn't because he re-rolled after retiring and is looking for melee looms.

Just to restate how insane this suggestion is: an archer is told to trade away arrows, 50% of what makes him an archer.

I'm not saying it's the best solution, I'm saying it's the only solution.

Well it's really no solution at all if he can't find someone to buy them isn't it?

Warcat perhaps you can find some super rich players and grovel to them so they can give you some money.

I'm not saying it's the best solution, I'm saying it's the only solution.

If it is the only solution then by default it is the best solution.
There is a difference between the best "theoretical" and the best "practical" solution.

So congratulations chadz, you have given him the best solution!

Well it's really no solution at all if he can't find someone to buy them isn't it?

Not gonna happen. Pre-patch with old upkeep I could have continued handing out money for "charity" work, as I gave away about 400K+ but with the new upkeep... Not gonna happen.

I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.
