Thanks for the feedback Ikarus; it really helped me to figure out what has been happening community-side these last few patches.

If anyone happens to know the name of a map they liked from the past or can describe it to me in general terms, this weekend I will be going through my modules looking at maps for inspiration; if you would like me to check if I really do have the map that no-one else does then please post here, PM me or ask someone you can contact to let me know?
I'll do my best and maybe bring back some oldold maps that the community made. :)
Maybe you are not bad, but you are a boring person. Well, that's the end of the matter.

I am a big fan of the following maps (these are just some that came to mind)
  • Teutensuppe's Arena: Small ruined 2 story building in the middle, bridge to one side and some tents / fence. Small arena map makes for good focused fights
  • Chasm: Bridge fight over a giant chasm with gap in bridge, makes for fun fighting around the gap, hilarious falls when you push the enemy off or fall off yourself
  • Cave of Odin: Cool fight inside a cave. Highly detailed indoor map, not great for cav but nice to break up the monotony of village/field maps
  • Attack on a Caravan:Players fight along a caravan of carts, cool situational fight, mucho immersive
  • Silent Sea: Ship to ship battle, this one is a bit unfair as one side spawns on higher ground but a more fair ship battle would be great
  • Arena:Obvious classic could use more like it
  • Burning Witch (Tavern):Classic map, excellent indoor fight, not good for cav or ranged but makes for really fun brawls and the rounds don't last long as the map is very tiny. Would love to see more indoor maps like this.
  • Bandit/Raider Lair Maps Most of these are good well sized maps that are basic but play well
  • Coastal Desert town w/ Tower: Forget the name of this one but its a desert town with a tower in the middle that is 3 stories and had chain paths to rooftops around it. Fun fight with multiple levels.

Would also love to see some fights in castle courtyards or in specific small parts of strategus maps.

Decided to go through it earlier than expected and found some old classics(familiar to my eyes) as well as some of the ones asked for; a siege AND battle version of Trouble in the Neighborhood.
Left out a few of the really really large ones (300+kb)

The ones I listed are all already in the game. Just meant to list them as inspiration for any new maps.

Sorry if I caused confusion there.
