We have dumb ppl. in every country, just like America has dumb people.
The problem with the notoriously dumb is that they more often than not cry the loudest and get all the attention. Just look at all the wannabe celebs in Germany like Daniela Katzenberger or Dieter Bohlen or whoever, it's not like we're any better in this case than Murica. The only problem with those dumbfucks is that some people actually admire them and listen to the shit that manages to get the way from their pile of garbage that wants to call itself "brain" through their mouth and starts polluting our ears or eyes.

As long as some people will listen to them they will continue polluting people's minds, the only solution is ignoring them.

I honestly doubt using the techniques of the dumb to clean the world would make it a better/less dumb place.

To be fair, the South historically has actually had way less immigration than the North and Midwest. Except for the forced kind in chains :(  That can be blamed for a lot of the ignorance you see, since in lots of cities in USA you will find totally accepted multiculturalism abound as a fact of life and no one bats an eye, I'd say its way way less racist than the shit you hear from a lot of EU countries.

The South identifies as American because of multi-culturism. The reason is that the majority are African/American Indian/and some other ancestry or 3. If any tweets like the ones expressed going out are from the South, it is from the small minority that wants to be "White" even though they aren't.

Coca Cola has enough money to hire people who are smarter than you or me to design its marketing strategies. They absolutely anticipated that there would be a substantial number of racist (disguised as patriotic) tweets in reaction to this, just like w/ the Cheerios commercial last year. They would never have released this ad w/out considering its impact on the bottom line. The fact is, most Americans don't care about this diabetes merchant and its marketing strategies, and more of those who do care look favorably on this ad than those who were "offended" by it.

This map of reported ancestry on the 2000 U.S. census is hilarious and should give you an idea of of where in the USA these xenophobic views are more common, though of course they exist in any state of the USA, or any country in the world.

From my experience in the Northeast, the "average American" has a ton of pride of their grandparents or later who immigrated to America, and keep their "old world" traditions alive in often stupid, misguided MURICA ways (try a St. Patrick's day with a lot of Irish-Americans, jesus).  I know just as many people who grew up in bilingual households with first generation immigrant parents, and are definitely average Americans, while having tons of South American/European flags everywhere, loving the fuck out of soccer, speaking two languages, and whatever else.

Though I think everyone can agree: Fuck Brazillians
Lol, of course my county is one of those with the majority of black people surrounded by German pop.

Btw, what the hell is the American culture part? Lol

Ugh. The people I grew up around in Missouri would have said something like this.
From my experience in the pseudo-South, this is attributed to a lot of rural/suburban stubbornness, and a lack of culture. Completely.
That's not to say everyone is like this, but throughout highschool, being a disgruntled racist was totally acceptable.
The town I grew up in was something like 98% white, so I can understand how this happens.

Copying from the 2000 census on Wikipedia
Quote
The racial makeup of the city was 97.98% White, 0.39% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.94% Asian, 0.18% from other races, and 0.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.80% of the population.
