I can honestly say that steel pick without a shield sucks and none of you should use it.

One Handed Battle Axe. Deals great damage and has a bonus against those damn shields.

I sold my Arming Sword, got a lot a more of kills with Iberian Mace, and use the Long Axe to smash shields.
I need a better weapon...
