Adding some simple bandages would give a bigger purpouse for the low-level characters that can't deal any harm, they could heal it at least :)

He's not the hero DTV deserves but he's the one they need.

healing wound takes very long long time
have to rest on bed a lot and needs clean water,medicine,good foods

how about this

when wounded deeply by pierce or slash weapons
slowly die from bleeding
only healers can decrease or stop the bleed

remove arrows and darts on body for visual effect

and blunt damage would cause internal bleeding and/or broken bones. Always use blunt kids!
