one could clain that if music cant stand on its own without lyrics, the music is not strong enough and does not deserve the lyrics in the first place! :) personally i prefer no lyrics eventho i appreciate the sound of the human voice as an instrument.

i agree tagora. ppl listen with eyes rather than ears. it all started with elvis... ;D

but thats just the world as it is. ppl are judged by how they look like, their surface and music is judged by using the eyes. i tend to say in joke that sometimes i wish the world would become blind for just a couple days ;D i think the world would be a better place, lol

fuck bling.

Music is like any art form.  A lot goes into it.

You can think a movie has amazing action scenes, but a terrible plot.

You can think instead it has fascinating dialogue and acting, but its like watching a shitty soap opera or find it boring and can't get immersed.

Lyrics, melody, rhythm, production, percussion, arrangement, voice, video, meaning, timing.  Songs can be particular to people and be successful in one way and fail in others.

A truly gifted musician ends up excelling in everything.

Mostly art is about conveying a mood, meaning, expression, or feeling to the listener, and being successful at it.  Music is no different from painting or acting in that regard.  It just fits more easily into an iPod and is pretty profitable as a business.
