If im playing an alt i use a sword of war and morningstar. Morningstars work really well on breaking shields. Good armour killers too.

not use a fucking maul?

You can backpedal with pretty much any weapon against a turtle. A maul is a terrible weapon in many many other situations, and the player asking may not want to use that. Also, you are fucked if they have a pick or 1h mace, because they are probably too fast for you to get overheads in.

Mauls are group weapons. If you have half a brain, you don't run alone with mauls. It is part of the deal.

In a group where the other guy doesn't concetrate on you, mauls do massive damage.

In a room with 5 enemies and 4 friends, my friends will distract and I will probably kill 3/5 enemies.


So yes, mauls are the answer, just not for everyone.

Shielders make me giggle.  If you want i'll take you to duel server and show ya sometimes how to win against them.

If they have a shield, and especially if they are holding the shield up, you have the upper hand speed-wise. If they want to sit in a corner and touch their weenie behind their +3 board shield leave them alone and go kill the rest of their team. If they're out in the open, you should be able to literally run circles around them. Throw in a figure 8 or zig-zag and they will reveal their luscious unshielded butt cheeks for you to place a weapon into.

So yes, mauls are the answer, just not for everyone.

All of this is true, but what is also true is that when I have my lance on my horse, I see maul users as snacks with a big "hello I'm a free kill" sign above their heads, which isn't the case with virtually all 2h or polearms that can stab. I personally thing mauls as very good, but also very situational weapons. You can't estimate then correctly without also showing what they are bad at.

when im unbanned i plan on dueling some nooblord huddlecrabs if u think ur a sik huddlecrab then just lemme know so i can dominate you in duels. i usually run away from them because they are too boring to fight.

As with anyone who doesn't understand footwork and positioning, castor swing all day err day.  Or if by huddlecrab you mean some guy who rarely strikes back . . . if I remember how to play usually I just ignore them and attack someone else.  You don't actually attack someone else.  You pretend to attack some guy in front of you, who will block, which will free you up to attack the huddlecrab behind you, who thinks you're not paying attention.

90% of the time I spam as I approach, leave myself blatantly open and run into their swing so it glances, spin while swinging and get a hit in. This doesn't work well against the piercing 1h though.

If I see a shieldwall forming, I just go look to scrounge up an axe (if I'm not already using a shieldbreaker). Or just whack at their shield until they get bored or impatient and attack.
