I really like the idea of encouraging team-play with the current gold/xp system.  I have a suggestion though.

Gold and XP multipliers are increased for the winning team, as usual.
Gold is gained per tick, as usual.

However, XP is gained per kill or battle participation, as in the old system.

This way the spoils go to the victor (as it should be) and experience is gained by actually participating in battle (as it should be), encouraging people to stick together.

Just a thought!  Whaddya think?

Ya then I'll do the whole get a bow with one power draw find the tallest thing I can stand on and soak up the XP again.

What I do think they need is either a xp bonus for getting a kill or gold or a bit of both whatever.

Xp would probably be better to help the new guys out so they stick around.  Maybe even an extra bonus 5k xp when every round you get 10 kills.  Then again you'll get people flooding the forums he/she stole my kills.  It has happened before. Also such a system without a penalty for FF dmg done is stupid imo.  People are gonna try and go crazy spam mode and just kill friendlies more often.

So I am punished for being a support class and making lives easier for friendly melee users by being an archer?

I kill few people as I mostly "soften up" targets (Unless they are cav then I usually flat out kill them), or "stun" people already in melee so that they flinch so friendly can exploit it. And as an archer I am usually far away from the combat anyways so there goes any "proximity" bonus. Cav also flit into and out of combat so any proximity "contribution" would be lost for them too.

Then again this might reduce the range spam...

Anywho, would it also be possible to intruduce a penalty for TKing where it is worth negative triple the usual for killing an enemy? That might be a strong enough slap in the face to cut down on half of the melee spammers.

I don't know, I am not sure I even care at this point as I want Cake...
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.

I'm very happy that the blob vs blob battles are history and I think most players are. That system REALLY sucked. That was imo the worst part of the old crpg.
It just limited the freedom, the fun and the teamplay. It also made alot of players to just stay back and leech.

It is so much more fun now when you can:

- actually help out your teammates outside of the blob....
- harass behind enemy lines causing big casulties to the enemy and making your team win...
- follow different strategies...
- suicide attack...
- avoid battle for 5 minutes then suicide attack...

... without getting less XP.

An experience bonus of say 100xp per kill (regardless of multiplier) is a better option if you want to seperate the "leechers" from the "participants".

BUT like Felagunda said:

So an XP/Gold per kill bonus is not such a good option either.

I think the system is perfect as it is now to be honest.

As for me, i don' like it. Team wins becaus of small clan groups flanking ememies.

I say the opposite:

Gold per kill
XP per minute

So people don't get stuck at level 1 for ever because it is too difficult as a peasant to make kills.

1000* xp X the amount of 30seconds in the round X the multiplyer bonus (this could go up to 10) and we get this at the end of the round and for the team that wins they get a 500xp bonus for their troubles

*(this is for 1st gen players)

for gold it would be far better to up the amount per tick to like 250 per tick
:/ 50 gold is pathetic

how ever one could change this to 250g per kill
and a 500g bonus for the winning team (for the peasants)
however that might not be very efficiant with high kill people
but keep the repair system it's fine you just need lots of money

Also with heirlooms
there should be a system where there is: when you buy an item
it has a certain chance of having a modifier and with that small percent of modifier it has another percentage of what kind of modifier it is
but I have not figured out a special bonus for retirement

That would make a 6 minute round capable of generating 120,000 exp (12 (the amount of 30 second ticks)*10 (max multiplier)*1000(base exp)). The winning team get's an additional 500 exp. Whoohoo!

Making it 250 gold just eliminates the entire repair system. That leaves you with 125,000 gold worth of gear you can run around with.

or we could just make it like single player xp system
each kill gets you blah amount +winning bonus (for peasants)
and gold you should just have unlimited amounts of money! Make it 9999999999999 etc

gold is a problem we don't get much
we COULD go with 250g per tick but raise the upkeep of items :D
no raising prices though :/ everything costs way too much anyway
I just don't like this idea of time based xp/gold as this is what this post is about
