I'm sure about one thing: People don't give a fuck about how and where they swing and that 5times reporting doesn't work at all. There are way many complete morons that ruin my game experience just because they swing like crazy dumb fucks. What is worse, that the more they piss me off the more I start to swing as one of those fucks as well to make them taste their own medicine. Loosing doesn't really piss me off 10 times as much as meeting with those notorious teamhitters on my team.

Suggestion (edited):
Introduce reflected team hits, triggerable by pressing M key. Simply sbdy hits you, if you report him back he gets -20 hitpoints penalty at the start of the next round.

Give it at least a try, I believe this could work in the end, because those that teamhit the most will be affected the most by this change. Not those that control their swings. If it turns out to be stupid, we can revert it anytime.

I suggested it somewhere else, make it 4 reports and make it a 5-minute ban.

That way people might start to care for their hits. If that doesn't work it can be brought to 10 minutes or more.

And please change so it isn't based on maps. Change it so the number goes down again after a several time of not hitting teammates. Like every 30 seconds the number of reports decreases by 1.

so come up with something else, i don't care how you solve the problem. my point is teamhits are really a problem and the current solution (report sbdy 5 times) doesn't work AT ALL.

I agree about 5repots situation doesn't work at all. like fasader says lot of ppl don't wanna report at all, probably coz they thit too xD
I will give a chance to 3reports=1h ban, probably in that case even a single report should calm down crazy swingers/thrower etc..
the reflect damage could works too but i don't like it too much, is quite unrealistic and i don't think many ppl care about dying so much..

Another option could be a 5th=1h ban but in automatic. if u reach 5 your're out, no report or other stuff.

I'm a 2h so i th sometimes even tk. But i rarely reach 2 reports in a single battle, in return i recive many th, today just few minutes ago i recived 3 th in the same time by 3 different ppl, all behind me(i was 1vs1 with an enemy) that's a new record!!! but i usually take a couple of hits any round..not battle..
I don't like this situation to be honest and i hope in some change.

I still think that punishment feature has reduced amount of teamhits. It was worse back then.

Some teamhits are inevitable, I feel like I'm getting teamhit most when I'm playing 1hander. Maybe it's because of short range and face hugging making me run into team mates swings a bit more. Also this spinning around enemy as a shielder often causes me to get hit. Polearms are sweet because you can stay relatively far from the friendly swings.

Worst teamhitters in my eyes are the cav players. Holy **** they can be greedy players, couching into a 10 friendly v 1 enemy is just something that makes my blood boil.

This guy brings up a good point. You can "save" that reflected team hit for up to 15 seconds, wait till your teammate is engaged, and Wham!

Bad idea.

Sometimes it happens that someone accidentally hits a teammate. Most guys are pricks and press m, especially on siege. Now imagine you are fighting someone, accidentally hit a teammate and the moment you want to block your enemies swing he presses m -> you get that refelcted hit and the enemy kills you.

Would also be abused quite much I suppose, people watching you and waiting for you to block a hit and then pressing m on purpose :/

Sometimes people run into middle of battle and get hit, report after that, this is one way u could abuse this feature.

Remember, watch where you run also.

i can see 10 times more situations how u can abuse current system than the one i'm suggesting.

the only thing i have a problem with is it feels "unreal".

maybe the other option could be that for each reported teamhit you spawn with -20 hitpoints less at the beginning of a next round. this actually sounds even better to me than what i suggested at the beginning...

Teamhits suck.  Yeah.

But reflecting them would just make it 2x as bad.  Corpsethrough = 2 dead players... yeah.  Not gonna support this.


Edit: And to be constructive, as others have said, the solution is to fix the underlying system, don't add something to it that it doesn't need.

EX: Reduce the number of TWs required for kick on some servers, and make them go down over time (NOT just map switch, they should remain on map switches!)  Honestly, most TWs are mistakes, people who want to go on a rampage can usually do so without getting kicked via the report option.

I like the idea of some kind of reflected hits reflected hits or TW penalty.

I always thought that when someone TW's you. you should steal 100 of their gold... and if you TW someone its steals 100 of your gold and gives it to them. ;) not a huge gameplay penalty but maybe enough to discourage teamwounds or at the very least give the victim a little compensation for the broadsword swung at his straw hat.

I would also second, reducing the number of current M reports required for kick.
