Was about to repeat what StanleyPain said, but he got it covered.  Can't host dedicated servers from a residential line and expect a good experience.

I've looked at hosting a larger server too.  When connected to the 120 NA server I was using about 15KB/s.  So let's say an 80 player server would use 10KB/s per player.  80 players * 15000 KB/s * 2592000 seconds/month = 2TB of data per month.  A 24 player server pushing 5KB/s/player would use over 300GB in a month.  In your case even that would be over the 250GB/month limit Comcast has in place.  Of course it wouldn't be fully populated all the time, but you don't want to be going into overage charges if it does get popular.  And to get popular it helps to be running 24/7.

Sorry to crush your dreams, mine were too.

Thanks for the great info guys!! That was very educational. I guess Ill find something else to do with my server, maybe since I love map editing so much Ill run a 5-10 player map dev server to test and debug maps, Im guessing that would be do-able? Well, you didn't crush my dreams per since I have the cash and motivation to build this thing, I thought I might try to do something nice for the community   8-)  So these large servers people have are what.. rented and run from data centers?

So the NA servers arent coming back because whoever was running them doesnt want to foot the bill? or is there some other reason that the process is so complex that whatever the hell the EU guys did it can't be duplicated?

Donate then.
Oh yeah every bit help so let's get donating. But first I think they need to fix the upkeep thing first. Cause if we lose people theres gonna be alot of less servers to get into which gives less donation. And this is beside the point what kind of armour is ur toon wearing is that the Khergit Elite armor or the Vagier Elite I need to know before I buy it. I am gonna give the patch a week to c what happens. If I like what I c I am gonnna give some donations.

This one.  Last I heard from Airith in IRC the process was done just as EU did to fix their servers of this issue, but for reasons unknown it's not working on the NA server.  They're still working on it, believe me Lorn posts an update every minute letting chat know that it's still crashing/broken/whatev.
And I should be nice or polite to anyone.... why exactly?

WTH is wrong with me then because i RARELY get below 100

im on verizon fios 25mb up and down.....

seriously sometimes itll say like 68-70 on the list but once i get in game its 98, 102,120,130 ....and it fluctuates just like that.
in darkfall their servers are on west coast and my ping there is like 95
