Decided that I should post this idea in it's own thread. There it goes:
I will do a small analysis and post my reasoning to do this suggestion. If you do not want to do a bit of reading, you can skip this part. It's really common knowledge.
There are 7 lances in cRPG. These are Practice lance, Jousting lance, Great lance, Light lance, Lance, Double Sided lance and Heavy lance.
-Practice lance and Jousting lance are low-tiers.
-Great lance can be useful as a jousting option.
-Double sided has it's own characteristics.
These are rarely used, but they have their uses. I will examine the other lances, which I like to call main lances.
By main lances, I mean these are the lances used mainly by lancer cavalry. You get the idea.
Of these, heavy lance was highly popular. Because better length, meant better lance. Since it's damage has been went down considerably, now; the regular lance is the most common choice of lancers.
What does this mean? This means that among 7 lances, only 3 are the main options for a lancer. Among these 3 lances, only 1 of them is the generally strongest one.
Mostly damage and length are the important stats. Speed is mostly irregular. As long as the damage is fatal enough, the longer the better the lance is; is the main principle in determining the best lance.
I think this is a bit boring. Those three lances were used in native. It was simply, the better the lance is more gold you had to spend on it. Therefore not spending it to other equipment; such as better horse, better sword or better armor. Besides; in cRPG All classes have their options, based on their personal preferences. There are no best weapons. Umm... maybe arbalest. But I'm not really sure.
My suggestion would be replicating the stats of light lance, lance and heavy lance:Blunt Lance
Speed: 82
Length: 180
Thrust: 26 blunt
Swing: 16 blunt
Difficulty: 9
CouchableKnockdown (Not sure about this feature)
Lance (Same as the old lance)
Speed:85
Length:180
Thrust:28 pierce
Swing:16 blunt
Difficulty:10
CouchableHeavy Lance
Speed:77
Length:180
Thrust:28 pierce
Swing:17 blunt
Difficulty: 11
Bonus against ShieldCouchableIf any of you disagree with my ideas about the current lances or didn't like the ones I posted; please say so. This is just an idea. If those changes would mess a cavalry player, then I'll reconsider it. I just left the regular lance as it is on purpose, to not bring any changes to people's game experience. Some people might have been against the idea of a change to a weapon that they are using. As it would require them to adapt their timing with the lance. Since it is the most common one, just leave it as it is. Change the ones that aren't used much. Was my philosophy.
