Exactly why it isn't practical.  Either every item would have to be remodeled x3
or we'd need glowing auras, which would be stupid.

Fun to imagine, but -1

well if you just change the textures you need just one model.
if you change the model for example i use a slightly modified GLA:
GLA1
GLA2
that took about 2 mins of work.

so all that's needed is either a talented texture guy who got some nice ideas about decorating the weapons without making them look fantasy style or someone who changes all models  :mrgreen:

If we are going to redo each weapon, we should use the new textures for elite weapons that are not better than their regular counterparts, but cost 100k+ and are only for show-off. We seriously need a gold sink, all the ninjas are drowning in gold.

Yea would be cool being able to pimp ur weapon up for a cost of like gold because as a archer i have loads of money.

maybe like
1st = 10k
2nd = 50k
3rd = 100k

or something along those lines

I had this idea a few days ago too, like giving your item some editing options. Like now you would get your standard heirloom screen, than when you decide on heirlooming an item, you get to add a feature to it. So you can give your weapon a more distinct look everytime you heirloom it.

But, I don't think the devs care much about such things.

i am pretty sure that if someone provided them with the necessary models and textures they would do the coding part.

it's just alot of stuff to change if you want multiple options.

That is their policy, which means that unless some modeler/texturer comes in and save the day, this idea won't get of the ground anytime soon.
