Theme Battles - New thread

Hello everyone.

Danish Generals vid put the sweet taste of nostalgia in my mouth, and I'm willing to start doing theme battles again. Please do tell me if you can give me troops or gold for the cause. I'm especially looking for the carebear alliance in this regard, I know they have more troops and gold they can ever spend.

The system will be the same one as before. If you give me troops or gold, you get an entry ticket to the battle. Rest of the slots will be filled with randomers who get picked as soon as they apply, regardless of level or class. Last time I did these, an overwhelming amount of people applied, so the ticket is worth it. Also, we can't use any equip we want nowadays in strat, so I'll try to make (un)balanced battles with something for each class.

Feel free to discuss ideas as well in here. Silly ones and serious ones are just as good.

I remember the snowball battle, was quite fun and would be fairly cheap to do.

Good idea actually. First theme battle will be 200 vs 200 snowball fight (when I get the troops and gold).

Gear will be light winter-style gear. Weapons will be stones.

As much as i'd love to donate, i joined a clan again which wants to do Strategus :/.

Why would you want to do this on Strategus instead of normal server? Should simply be an event with passworded server and gear requirements.

I wanna see both "just for fun" theme battles like vikings vs samurais etc and somewhat historical battles with a more serious approach to commanding , equipment, formations etc (not necessarily battles that took place in history , but at least conflicts that happened) : Saxons vs Normans, Mongols vs Russia, Turks vs Byzantine Empire and so on .

Tooooooootally agree with Tot and Ujin. That would make crpg so much more fun..........
 I dont play strat, so itd be fun just to do it as like an event. If quite a bit of peole joined up, we could definitely do theme battles with commands/formations and the such. Count me in on that kind of thing; if you dont make it strictly strat.

I'm looking at clanners non-interested in strategus to do the dirty work in here. Ujin, since Byz stopped with serious strategus play, I would appreciate it greatly if those who can be arsed would grind me troops or gold. There's only so far I can do this alone.

I love the idea for themed battles, but I really find it a shame to see strat being used as platform for these battles.

If all we do in strat is gaining a village to do mock fights, something is seriously wrong. Strat shouldn't be a medal with a digital village and then the planned and carefully arranged battles.

Again I can only repeat that strat shouldn't be a platform for arranged rpg battles. It should be struggling for your territory.

Aemaelius, I tried it once and found out that strat with it limited spawning works best for theme battles. It also gives some XP as a reward.

Also with the current strategus, the problem is that people find very little interest in it. For me, the only interest is just gaining troops and gold for theme battles. Struggling for territory doesn't seem interesting in the slightest.
