The retirement system is supposed to reset your character, as a heir becomes apparent. It would make no sense if someone uses a heirloom that he achieved himself, as he was no heir to anyone.

Also, this is stupid as balls, would throw the balance throughout the window. All it would do, is benefit people who hit level 31+, and give them kickass gear with a kickass build. This is unfair on peasants, and makes the whole current heirloom system negligible.

THIS is stupid as balls.

-1   Getting that perfect build means that you lose out on ye looms. Els everyone would do this.

This.
There's already little point in retiring, except when you want to keep your freedom and a good gold income.

That's like offering heirlooms to some players and not to others. Hardly fair at all.

Plenty of people already have all the looms they need when they start aiming for a higher level. TheSerge (I think) or Balbaroth being prime examples.

That said, this idea wouldn't work because it's easier to gain xp and money when you're a higher level (Better stats) and so you would be able to get heirlooms quicker... Unless you're saying you only get 1 loom point for lvl 32 and lvl 33, etc (not counting looms by exp).

Seems like everybody forgot about the +4 heirloom system. When you get to level 33, you'll be able to heirloom a +3 item to +4 if you wish. Or just waste it heirlooming to less than +4. The system should be in place by April 1st. Ask about it then.
