Rus scale is great. Just don't make the same mistake as most people of using gauntlets type gloves with it. Use mail mittens. Just look at baggy's screenshot, he's wearing gauntlets over the wrist guards that come with the armour, it looks stupid!

I usually use Rus Scale as it looks better but i rarely get to use my heavier gauntlets so used them for that training.

Take traditional fallen armour: cuir bouilli over mail.

Agree here, cuir bouilli over mail makes you look even bigger / tankier. Also rus scale and tribal warrior outfit (for lower armor) looks great with Klappvisier.
