General Discussion / Re: retiring: what's the point?

This. Loom transitional and you get Black Armor :)
Honestly, it seems like loomed gear is better than it's equal armour counter-part.

Wearing Lordly Banded, it really does seem like people glance more and do less damage than when I was wearing Corazinna (Both 52 body).

-7 Riding Arabian, might as well ride a Destrier. Controls just as well with that high riding.

Game Balance Discussion / Re: We need a low tier piercing bow

[q]Nowadays, one 2h/pole guy can rush into a group of archers and kill all of them. [/q]
Maybe if you have a bunch of shitty archers that are all listening to music and don't all just run away or you know, shoot the asshat.

The lower tier bows need something because nobody ever uses them. You see all sorts of melee weapons being used, all tiers infact but you only ever see the Khergit (Rare), Strong, War or Long bows. Hybridization was sort of killed with the slots but I think it'd be pretty neat to carry around a pocket bow and stack of arrows without a whole lot of investment as a skirmishing weapon until your opponent closes the distance. Now as how to do that... Maybe make them a lot faster, give them utility as a supression weapon, or more accurate but less damage so you can harass that plate wearer killing everybody without risking hitting teammates (unless you suck at point and click adventure games).

At this point, doing that (That being using a low PD bow) with a bow is simply retarded because 50 WPF out of your main weapon will make your crossbow stupidly accurate and do far more damage than any of the bows (PD6, 172WPF with a MW Rus Bow and a normal crossbow still does as much damage if not more).

You want to be a pikeman? 3 Slots, be a pikeman.

Want to carry a bec with the pike? Too bad, you're not a pikeman.

Dasty took care of that and he's looking for input on what maps you guys want since he doesn't play Siege much and doesn't know which are the gooders and which are the shitters.

Was cut from 36 maps down to 9.

Wrong. So.. wrong.
Pff. The only acceptable form of revenge is 'accidentally' trampling them. Everything else is pretty childish.

Nailed it.

Taking revenge on someone because they did something is pretty childish.

Seems to me that you have always succinctly pointed out weird game mechanics with rapier whit. Keeping in line with that I think either of these topics would be good.

Goretooth because watching him try and fight the remaining 6 archers and xbows always brings a smile to my face. It's like watching mice slowly but surely take down a bull.

Cyranule because his 1hand cavalry skills makes me green with envy (and because I like stealing the arabian and trying to copy him with my longsword) and Mr. Pibb because I still can't quite emulate his lancing ability on the courser.

Please do, because reading the essays of people that begrudgingly write them insincerely is amusing.

You do have to kill them all, it was just an easy way because if you went up something with steps, the NPC's came in one at a time and when there were 6 of you standing there with pointy objects, you made rather quick work of the wave, even if it was a difficult one.

Would be an idea if it were an openish field, save for maybe some fences or something to duck behind out of crossbow fire and then have the player be the VIP and do something like CS did and standardise their armour, health, movement and weapon so that it doesn't randomly give a new player that dies in 1 hit VIP or the player you're crutching on.

Few ideas for it anyways, probably should throw these in the suggestions forum since DTV is fun when you want a while of mindless bot killing.

The assassination is a fix to people abusing the AI. It was a simple matter to get a x5 and then climb up onto something where melee can't get you, and you can shelter from ranged and pick them off slowly over the entire round, thus maximising your XP and abusing the AI.

If the target were a player, same thing would happen. However, if you could command the virgin to follow you so you can at least run into a building or narrow way where you have the advantage versus a huge swarm... then we'd be cooking.
