cRPG Technical problems / Cant get into Crpg after launcher
« on: December 03, 2012, 10:00:53 am »
I cant get the program to work.

So i launch the Crpg Launcher, click play crpg.  Warbands window comes up with crpg selected, I click play mount & blade.  It goes to the intro scene as always, I press Esc to skip intro, and then it exits the game and goes to the desktop, and thats it. (I dont play through steam)  =/

Normal warbands is working fine.

This is the first time ive played Crpg in 3 days, worked before this patch i guess.

Can't play, help :\

Beginner's Help and Guides / 2h / Crossbow build !
« on: October 30, 2012, 05:27:59 pm »
Howdy,

So Im making my first build that uses a crossbow in crpg and have some questions.  So I plan on using a 2hander, crossbow, and steel bolts.   From those who have done this build before, what lvl 30 build did you find worked best?  Im thinking either 18/21 or 21/18.

My bigger question is the wpf for crossbow.  How much, if any, should I put into it?  My understanding is that points into xbow decrease reticule size, but do not actually improve accuracy.  They do two things, increase reload speed and decrease breakage.

thoughts?

I'm still having the same problem.  I'd describe my text as more like unreadable blocks instead of letters then blurry. tried reinstall.  : {

Closed Requests / Re: Poll Ban Abuse
« on: May 25, 2012, 01:35:44 am »
You completely destroyed a catapult that blackzilla and another guy had been setting up for 20 minutes.  You just walked over and destroyed it for no reason.  That is griefing, and when it comes to poll kicks people just come back and grief again.  A ban was necessary.

This was not an abuse, but rather a use that was exactly what poll bans are for, since an admin is rarely on the duel server.  Mute does not stop people such as bootybuster from griefing.   66% Voted 1, it wasn't even close.

I'm certainly not the only one who saw it.  You griefed and got punished, be pissed at yourself.

Making my first polearm build finally at gen13.  I dont know what weapon im aiming for yet, but debating between 18/21 or 21/18, and perhaps putting 2 shieldskill in for some survivability vs ranged, and i have medium armor.

Thoughts or recommendations?

"...just a satire on what rampant hyper-nationalism looks like."

Its a long running satire troll fest from certain EU players' and their perception of American nationalism.  I don't think C-rpg is an appropriate avenue for politics in general, and politics is not the point of this response.   But It would be nice if international political trolling wasn't tolerated to such an extreme, much less admin-endorsed.  Got old for me awhile ago.

I doubt I'm going get much support on this here as clearly a number of players join in on it, but this admin-endorsed America trolling is what it is.   I doubt players would take to it as well if such consistent political trolling occurred toward other countries, in fact I know people don't.  People seem to get much more sore if the trolling/baiting satire shifts to another target. It would be cool if people agreed this sort of thing in general was inappropriate.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Anyone tried 0wm with 1hander?

Well as I hit 30 today I was pwning pretty well.  Build seems like a success. Next question:  Should I trade my masterpiece white heavy norman shield for a masterpiece heavy round shield?

Masterpiece White Heavy Norman Shield
weight: 8.5
body armor: 18
difficulty: 4
hit points: 533
speed rating: 87
shield height: 95
shield width: 25

The +3 white heavy norman shield is a beast, and works nicely with my 4 shield skill as it rarely breaks.  However a heavy round shield is desirable since it provides better protection from being nailed by hits on my sides since the norman shield is fairly skinny, and the heavy round shield is also a little bit lighter.

Pros for trading for a +3 heavy round shield:
-superior all around protection
-slightly lighter weight, for increased movement speed
-slightly cheaper upkeep

Cons
-a good chunk less hit points, wont last as long, especially with my lower shield skill

What say you?

Yes it is heading in the direction of C-native, which is clearly at least one of the intentions.  A huge part of the draw to keep playing the game is being able to progress your character through levels and now ultimately heirlooms.  Remove those things and there is no carrot to chase, and despite how much people complain about hating the grind to be competitive, the game will become boring.

I get bored playing native multiplayer pretty quicky.  Its fun for a little bit then I'm burned out for a long time. C-rpg will become just as boring without any character progression and just customizable builds and fashion options.

Unless the devs got something in mind as a meaningful substitute for the current sort of character progression in this route toward nativizing it, I don't see the mod being nearly as compelling to play.

I meant 7 athletics.  Generally my stance has been that you need at least 7ps to do well with a cut damage 1hander aside from a military cleaver or axe, but I have seen several players be very successful with 6ps and italian swords, so it is doable.

I normally would agree regarding the shield, but currently I have a masterpiece white heavy norman shield, which with 4 shield skill almost never seems to break. That thing is a beast.

So assuming the speed difference is mostly in the head, why am I performing not so well with 6ps and a mw italian, and was doing much better when I had my mw military pick just yesterday (I just traded)?  Any tips for using this weap I might not know?  Obviously in general its less effective against tin cans, but outside of that (unless you have a tip for making an italian work against tincans too).

So the build I'm aiming for right now has 0wm, leaving me with 111wpf in 1hand and 6 power strike with a MW italian sword.

Im going for:

18/21
6if
6ps
4shield
7ath
111wpf 1hand

Heres the post discussing builds:
http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,25377.0.html

But here I'm just wondering if anyone has actually tried a shielder build with just 111wpf in 1hand?  Is this too slow to be worth it, or is it feasible?  It seems fairly slow right now at 105wpf at lvl 27, but that might just be that im transitioning from a military pick to an italian sword. But lewp's testing suggests its only like 2% difference in speed, but has anyone tried this?
