General Discussion / Re: Cheating or not: editing game textures
« on: January 15, 2014, 08:39:58 pm »
Can't stuff that's obnoxious and hard to see be made easier to see by default? I don't want to edit textures, but I don't want to go blind either.

For some reason a handful of things show up but the vast majority doesn't.

Looks awesome, wish it would work for me.

that's not what an ad hominem is, don't half learn something and then throw it around like you're smart

WSE2 Beta / Re: Asking for something, that will never happen.

This isn't like people going on the crysis forums and asking why their 10 year old computer can't play it. Warband has always had dx7, my bad computer has been able to run this game since open beta. This is a game we've all played fine and still do play, and now because functionality is being removed we won't be able to.

I mean this is a free mod so whatever, it's just lame that I won't be able to play it anymore for such a silly reason.

Cool, I didn't find anything else when I was searching for low res textures. I'll try those out if these ones aren't cutting it.

So testing it again and I noticed some of the options now have another option under low, abysmal. I also found a low res texture pack on mb repository, I basically just looked through it and added everything that had to do with trees, foliage, and structures. Seems like my games running better now, use at your own risk of course.

After trying it out a bit more, with a lower fps limit, changing ondemandtextures, and reduce cpu usage off,  its playable. Pretty much just depends on the map, lots of foliage makes it unplayable. I'm used to trees ruining my fps and my fps varying wildly, but its pretty weird on this. Even though I'm only losing a few fps the stutter will be terrible.

Same thing for me. I could run in directx7 and still have the game be playable. WSE2 has no directx7 support so the game is completely unplayable even with everything as low as possible.

Changing max framerate to lower did help a little. I changed it to 40 and in a duel server by myself I got a consistent 40, but with other people the game is unplayable. The odd thing is that my FPS doesn't seem as bad as it feels, the game is just all jumpy. I'm assuming it's jumpy because of the FPS changes, so that's why setting it lower it fixes it? I don't know, maybe I should go even lower.

Obviously my computer is just terrible, but it's lame that I won't be able to play when I could before.

Is this launcher the only way to actually get the mod? I can't install because of this error.
