HBS/Longsword. Claymore's my favorite top tier, but I settled with the german my first gen playing. That's what I did in the end. I chose the long sword, because it looks awesome. I'm appreciating stabbing more, so I may buy a regular great sword next.
Honestly though man, don't underestimate the other ones around. Dadao and Miaodao are phenominal swords. Couple people will argue in favor of the 'regular' Great Sword. Pick what looks coolest, or sleekest to you. Half the game is feeling like a badass, and you can get away with using the 1h meat cleaver in this game if you try hard enough.
Bullshit. When I wear 20k worth of gear I make money like crazy even without a multi. My gear right now is at 36k and I lose no money on a x1 and make a good amount with a multi. Now what you're saying is bullshit. I always wear a pilgrim hood, byrnie, mail gloves, turkish shoes, and a sword of war. I BARELY make any money. When I put on heraldic mail, a good helmet, and maybe some better shoes, I lose 10k gold within a few rounds. Your lying about the 36k gold. There's no fucking way seeing as how I can't keep myself up with armor around 20k gold with multis once in a while, yet you are neutral at x1 with armor at 36k.
And if you are only counting armor to calculate your upkeep you aren't a genius, weapons cost upkeep as well.
You shouldn't hate stabbing. It's one of the best features of the 2h sword. The reason why is because with good timing you will always hit first against another 2her swinging the other 3 directions, even if the guy you're fighting has a longer or faster sword. Plus it's a very useful attack for taking enemies by surprise (esp coming up the walls on siege ladders) and can poke enemies distracted in duels with your teammates without as much chance of twing. My stabs never seem to hit. It doesn't make a sword's noise when I stab someone. All I hear is a light blunt type noise when I try stabbing someone. It barely ever stabs, and that's why I never use it. I'll try the Sword of War for now.
Stabs aren't precisely in the middle of your screen. They're slightly to your upper left. Compensate for this by aiming somewhat to the right. You also need some room to stab so you should never try it if your're smushed up against someone. However, if your stab is already about 50% through the animation you can hit people extremely close to you. Don't be afraid to turn while swinging because stabs will allow at least 30 degrees of motion left or right.
Good stabbing weapons include the German Greatsword (poor slashing ability, great stab. Wouldn't recommend), Danish Greatsword (longest length, good cut, good stab), and the Sword of War (good cut, good stab, 1 point faster. My weapon of choice). You could use the Highland Claymore but it's a little too short for how slow it is. Sword of War is longer and faster, which means you'll have a better chance of hitting against most 2hers.
As a duelist, I prefer shorter, faster weapons such as Longsword and HBS.I was thinking SoW or Claymore, long range is better for agi/balanced builds, imo.
If you want hard hitting weapons (what I meant by power blows), I'd go with Morningstar/Mauls. Axes are great vs Shielders.
If you hate stabbing weapons, I wouldn't recommend any of the longer 2Hs.
What sort of playstyle do you like?
Duelist?
Keeping distance?
Power blows?
Great Axe or Morningstar. I'm 17 generations 2H, and I can tell you Great Axe rules.I'll take your word for the great axe. Shielders are quite annoying.
generation 1? try to switch betwen low tier 2handed sword wen you are on x1 and high tier wen you are on a multiplier.Yeah first generation. I will try your advice, thanks.
