Conquest mode wont work If there is one spawn per round.

Wait will be longer so one might aswell play battle instead. I'm all for tactical gaming and shit but waiting is never fun and it doesnt add anything to a game other then frustration and boredom. It would work out just as well if both teams had tickets. When I play battle I for the most part just attack without being carefull and when I die 40s - 1min in to the fight I continue watching whatever movie/clip I have running in the background.

You are right with the reticule and the awareness. But you've forgotten the godlike archer ability of kiting which is impossible with arba.

But you can still be fairly capable in melee if you use an arba. Where as the archer has to spend all their points on archery to not be absolutely crap.

Conquest mode.  Like Joker said.  I have no idea what that actually is, but if there's one thing infantry can do that cav and range can't do, is holding territory.  If holding territory wins the game, there's no need to nerf cav/range nor buff infantry.  Let 'em be OP that don't bug me as long as infantry can guarantee the victory.

Conquest mode would also reduce the waiting time inbetween spawns if it had a ticket system a lá battlefield or something. Reward players for good teamwork and tactical play. And give them the satisfaction of making a difference on the battlefield even without an imba k/d

The problem with this is that you cannot nerf teamplay and nerfing archer stats does not solve the problem and is unfair on the individual acrhers.

Archery might aswell be removed from the game rather then getting nerfed.

This argument is funny because I've heard it several times from lots of different people and it doesnt make sense. You run into a group of anything and its going to kick your ass.

Sure archers can win a fight and for a team but its the most useless and gimped playstyle in crpg except peasant. If any of you havent played an archer for a full generation then you should shut up about this subject and try it. I did it and felt like the red baron being the main target of every single person in the opposing team. There is no fucking way to make any money and at the same time be able to kill other players(not that I found anyway).

This isnt really a balance issue anymore this is a result of a mod that has absolutely no tactical value in its gameplay and a complete lack of any objectives other then killing the other team. They say war of the roses is going to be the CoD of this niche but its not true. There is no version of the M&B franchise that isnt a massive team deathmatch killwhoring grindgame when it comes to multiplayer. Strategus does count somewhat but its not really 'gameplay' per say. There is a complete lack of depth in the gameplay and that is why people get pissed off at archers grouping up raping everything. If all characters had some kind of different objective on the battlefield rather then competing over who's the better slaughtermachine my prediction would be that this mod and community would gain a much needed boost in playerbase.

I've played this mod on and off for years now and I GTX the game every now and then simply because its stupid. Gamemodes that makes you wait for ages for no reason and pointless battles that is only fun because of the amazing combat system that M&B provides. Other then that I have to ask myself what Crpg really has to offer? A grind for no reason? Some strategus battles every now and then?

Why do we have to cry about archers instead of demanding more in terms of gameplay out of this amazing mod?

Skill is a factor. There are some archers out there, famous for their score. (Often used as escape goats for nerf threads)

Well its not hard to get a good score when you target people in light armour and weaker opponents with a masterwork bow and arrow. Kills does not always = skills

When your projectile moves all over the place its all about spam and getting lucky once you figure out the projectile speed and arch, also the build is a huge factor i guess

Well the fact that the projectile goes in a random pattern everytime does not help the skill factor. Spam and get lucky is the only option most of the time unless the enemy is really close

Although archery is gimped I dont see buffing it will help the game much. Cav is the one main problem in this game

First of all you shot me in the head, so i turned around and ran at you with my fists and you shot me again, then i stopped and hen i turned around you shot me in the head again.

I hope you get banned and think about your actions because it was at important part of the battle

And if it was so important why did you turn to beat me up?
First was by accident, Second hit was a swordswing, third was really messed up. I wouldnt believe it either if someone told me.

Even though the swordswing was kinda a reaction for having a guy swinging his fists next to me the last arrow was not intentional. Merely an accident while turning to see if you where still chasing me.

I dont tk on purpose but playing an archer sometimes tk's happen. In this case, ye it was kinda fucked up. But I do think you are overreacting

game needs a 3rd attribute so there is more to building a character than simply choosing between speed or damage.

I suggest 3rd attribute intelligence. intelligence skills:

Surgery: allows use of scalpel to remove projectiles imbedded in players which cause bleeding (minor health loss over time)
Bandaging: allows use of bandages on players to restore some hp lost in battle
Construction: allows use of engineer tools such as spade/hammer which are required for the deployment of siege shields/ladders etc. including stakes in the ground which impale incoming cavalry. and a ballista.
Ballistics: allows use of a ballista which can be constructed in battle. the ballista model is already made. the ballista would be expensive to build, imobile but very effective in certain battle scenarios and is basically a VERY powerful crossbow that can hit through shields and people. also effective vs other deployments.


The ability to play as a medic or engineer will greatly enhance new gamemodes such as conquest, where teamplay and defending key locations are vital to victory.

Intelligence should also increase your effectivness when deploying tactical dropkick move on the battlefield. Its kinda like tactical nuke only more awesomer
