Just to add some fun along the lines of Katana need 200 weapon speed and all weapons need crushthrough:
Make armors more realistic. How?
a) Make plate type armors more expensive, but almost remove their weight penalty.
b) Make maille type armors less expensive, but keep weight penalty.
When I say more expensive I mean bad ass expensive. Like... really expensive.
Why?
Because weight distribution on plate armor is way way better than maille type armor.
More expensive because of balance.
And finally it could create a twist... do you want speed y/n. Y get broke using plate or wear light. n get protection and use maille.
Concerns for strategus? PLate shouldn't be no easier to produce. Only for the 1337....

dumb idea.
yes, some armor was more restrictive than others and would interfere with weapons. but weight is also weight, no shortcuts. since this game doesnt have constitution attribute or endurance/stamina system, any heavy armor is going to receive a penalty.

Make plate type armors more expensive
possible, just make price of this armor - 2M.
therefore repair bill - 100k
and make this armor «Shining», because I want to know who this dumb hero is.

What the fuck.

this could have been a good idea, but the problem is that gold is not a good restrictive value.
Someone who sold an heirloom could wear plate for ages.
-
If the repair costs for plate were as high as suggested then it would finally be the death of plate armour, sure using 7 athl. an plate would be fun, but even if i was on an x5 and it broke i'd be outta money.

Look here Casimir, I think it can be really interesting for you, and for all who interested in medieval prices.

and look for «Armor for Prince of Wales, "gilt and graven"»

Currently even if plate armors were just a little more expensive than medium ones I wouldn't use them because they slow you down too much. Buffing them somehow seems reasonable to me.

I had always heard that platemail was lighter than chainmail. I guess the theory is less metal is needed due to the way the curved armor would distribute impact. Either way, I'm rather confident it would have cost a lot more than chainmail since it required a significant amount more crafting skills

Maille "feels" heavier that plate because its weight completely lasts on the shoulders of the wearer. This can be partly counter-acted with a strong belt that redistributes some weight on the hips as well.
However plate, while being heavier in general, can be worn more comfortably because it distributes its weight evenly on the body.
For gameplay reasons we keep the linear weight depended wpf and speed penalty though, for now.

I would do it like this: all heavily armored people (with a lot of weight on them) would have a chance to tumble on slopes and ram into walls or doors to break them down. On the other hand lightly armored people would have a chance to go airborne on slopes, particularly useful for archers to rain down arrows from above.

I always thought there wasn't enough flying in my cRPG.

Regular Army
Esquires, constables,
and centenars 1s/day
Mounted archers, armored
infantry, hobilars, vintenars 6d/day
Welsh vintenars 4d/day
Archers 3d/day
Welsh infantry 2d/day
How much days you need to gather 300L?
Also you need money to spend for food, ale and whores, or you want to die innocent?

not a lot of money need to spend on whores, you casn just rape the women you find in the villages/cities you attack
