Title: Huge Tournament - Team 3 Commander Nomination

Hey fellas,

IT IS SETTLED: TEAM 3 HAS SHOWED ITS WILL. CPT. GEORGES IS OUR TEAM COMMANDER. HAIL THE COMMANDER! DONT MESS UP :)

As a part of Team 3 in the "huge clan tournament":
Pillagers, Kapikulu, Templars, Shogunate, Pecores, VRN, Ninjas

I thought this thread might increase the speed to select our commander. So I would ask each clan to nominate their own commander and post a single name here. So that eventually I can quickly create a poll and we can select one of those clan commanders as our team commander.

I don't think anyone in our squad is particularly interested in commanding the team. Personally, I'd support a captain from Shogunate.

It seems so far that the team commander is going to be selected from Shogunates. Btw I decided not to make a poll to avoid non-team3 members to vote. I have poked all clan threads including Pillagers but have not recieved any reply from those guys yet.

ehm guys, dont we need 1 commander for infantry, 1 for archer and another1 for cavs?

I dont know how exactly are we going to do this but maybe 1 commander for each class will make things easier to control?

I think the team definitely needs one overall commander. He can pick lieutenants for himself, but someone has to be in charge of the whole show or it'll be messy.

Well, I have experience in command since M&B:W selling, as leader of WARBAND Clan(~ 1 year, Native, 1st NPL top-7. :?), than as STR field-commander(I won battle vs Shogunate in Shogunate Tournament without any trainings or something, itsn't STR style  :oops:) and also I command in real battles in case of historical reenactment, and also I'm old Total-War fan...
BUT, I haven't any experience or reputation in Europe, so, let it be Gergeas(bloody troll), however, we'll talking about tactick with him, before match -)
 Hope, that my council of war would be usefull.

I had a good time, and despite various setbacks I'm proud of our team's performance. I don't think I'll play in later matches because the amount of players was causing extreme FPS lag for me, but I'll be cheering you all on from the sidelines! :)

Even with dx7 and everything on low etc.? I was suprised by the smoothness of it all.

DX7, everything pretty much minimal, and two optimization mods installed gave me an average FPS of 25 while fighting. My computer is made of rubber bands and paper clips.

I have all the the optimization mods besides the super-terrible-ugly-segd mod and I had ~10 FPS, usually crashed when the battle started or when I meet the first enemy.  :P

That was originally my idea :-(. Better than "flanking" 5 miles away from the battlfield to get shot or bumped to death by the cavalry.

Short flanking would've been the best, drawing out some infantry that goes after us (it always happens) and leave gaps in their ranks.

Sorry :( I heard it from Bertrand, that's why I wrote it like that. In either case, maybe a couple of shielders might help too. But unfortunately we didn't have enough of shielders to support each squad.

I think each and every clan should really be responsible for the amount of players they can bring to the battle. Team 3 had constantly around 10 players short than team1 and that's really one of the main reason we lost. I will not point out the particular clan in team3 but...

For example: u signed up for 10 members then u should at least let the team know that you are short of players and need more ppl from other clans to fill up the gap. If u only bring 3 ppl instead of 10 and 12 ppl instead of 20... How the hell do you expect us to win the battle? Even after the shogunate filled up 17 members, team 3 still ended up 10 players shorter than team 1.

This happend also in the previous battle against team4 but it was only the last round. This time this problem appeared in most rounds.

I don't know exactly how can we solve this but i think there should be rules to make this battle more fair and not let some clan overestimate their potential and register too many players, hence letting all the other players down in the team.

A new lesson learned. Next time it will be a tournament with a bit less players on each team and only with clans we can trust aka invites. So far it is pretty obvious who can organize a roster of the promised men and who cannot.

WOW, we get crushed so smooth. As behalf of the Turks clan ( Kapikulu ) I wish to present my apologies for the lack of organisation we laid down today. For multiple personal reasons I was not in the city, thus failed to bring enough men to the field. For those who participated in the first battle should be remembering that we were more than 15 players. So this is not a general situation we have, but is valid for this weekend only. For this, I would like to take up all the responsibilty for the missing numbers in team 3, and you can troll me anyway you like.

yea, i think its important for each clan to submit a roster of the certain players they can show up 1 day before the battle. ( maybe also 2 subs) Therefore hopefully...more players can feel a bit more obliged to come to the battle.

Thanks for all the people who participated and stayed with us to the end. Due to some problems with organisation, and me doing everything possible to contact clan leaders of the team's clans it turned out the way it did. Obviously there will be some re-structuring of commanders during the next week, if we get to fight next sunday. I am slightly disappointed with some of the clans not being able to match the numbers of players they gave, and also disappointed into people who were rage quitting during the battle for whatever their my old friendgity reasons. But as always I tried to work with what I get, and I would do it again any time. If some of you want to express some negative remarks on my command/decisions, plese do so here and now if you think it will bring any good.

I'd like to present this as constructive criticism, not rage.

You did a great job in the first battle, mainly because we didn't charge up the hills in a single big group every round.

We should have sticked to 2 groups and not charged so often.

Thank for the event , it was funny. I think server got gome problem but it was nice at least ; i love big battle .
 I know my clan doesn't come with a lot of people and some guys rage quit. I'm sorry for this but i'm not their mother and honestly i'm tired of this attitude. That why i'm not any more the diplomat  of Pecores clan and i'm going to be a simple pecores soldier

I really think that for the next battle we need some more pre battle preparations. I think every clan should submit a list with participants and substitutes that will most likely be there with their preferred class. So when something lacks it can be arranged so that we have a diverse and effective fighting force. Also assigning batallion commanders five minutes before the battle, that is unnecesarry and easily preventable. We had only 6 archers or something now, while the enemy had probably 18, also very good ones and they completely ripped us apart.

It was obvious everyone was slacking a bit in this second battle, we should be able learn from this and get the third battle right. For the sake of honour, or just for sake.

Anyway i'm pretty sure we Templars managed to field our 10 players,

Team 2 added Druzhina now. Druzhina will bring 20 ppl to team2. Personally i think its unfair to suddenly add another clan in this tournament.

We also lack players and i dont think we want to go with 60 players again like last week. SgtTeeh idea is great and we also need more heavy infantry. Perhaps we can also add another clan?

So now 20 people is an entire team of 75 heeh.

Maybe that's why we lost then because half our entire team was gone.  :lol:
