Been trying to make a new character to try out a different build and all I get is this message.
This character does not exist ....
Haven't played in a couple months, did something change?

I tried logging into my c-rpg login and it told me one or more characters didn't have a password so I did the password change thing but I still get the - This character does not exist .... message.

Yup, thats the one. I've never hacked, never had a reason to. I never even knew there was one for this game. There anything else it could be? I'll try logging in under my other characters name. If there's a reason for someone that's never had a character out out generation 1 and has a 1:10 kill to death ratio to hack you let me know.

I haven't heard of any false positives. One of your chars must have been detected using the hack, and your key is now permanently banned. That's what the message indicates.

I don't take this game seriously enough to try and improve my ratio with a hack.
And as far as false positives go ...

Hm.. i just tested this and this could actually indeed cause a false positive.
Is there anyone else that played Warband with an Xbox 360 controller and got reported?
Guess that's what I get for using a gamepad.

Good. The man was a jackass anyways always kicking people who were reloading and griefing in other interesting ways.

I can't help but wonder who he thought he was fooling with those innocent questions about reducing ban times. :lol:

I dont think you hacked but what im trying to know is if the game detects it when your running it or if you have the files on your computer

There is one other possibility that comes to mind, namely if your key was in use by other people who used the hack. Your key certainly has a long list of associated chars, and of course if you were actually gone for over a month then it seems even more unlikely it was actually you.

I've used so many I can't remember them all. My highest character's name was Battleforged, gen1 level 24 or 25 I think. I've had other one's like Lord_Mel_Gibson and a bunch of random stuff I honestly can't remember.
I pretty much make characters like I change my underwear, every 4 days or so.

Well, if all the alts are yours and there's no way anyone else could have used your key, then it must have come from you. Also, according to cmp, the character(s) detected using the hack have the same password hash as the chars associated with the TNGR acronym, so it seems like it must have been you.

I just had to change my password today when I tried logging in and it asked me to set it for all characters, that couldn't be it? Ugh, this sucks.

No, that ban's been in place since last month. The detection will have been from before the announcement was posted.

So if I purchase a new cdkey will I be able to play? And if so, I can still use my emulator software?
I'm reluctant to spend anymore money for something I didn't do, but it's a pretty fun mod.

None of the bans have been imposed on newly bought keys, and I sincerely doubt any gamepad got you or anyone else banned. If you really think that's what it was, then maybe play it safe; basically avoid doing whatever triggered the autoblock detection. So far I only know of one thing that's done it, though. :P

Thats fine okiN, I appreciate it. I know dubious shit happens on the internet and I'd rather the game was kept clean rather than let people that actually hacked play again without the repercussions of loss of funds.
For the record, I didn't hack and I'll stick to that. It sucks having to spend money I've already spent but I understand the reason for it.
