Hello folks! I have been playing for a couple of weeks now, and im still trying to get a hang of things.
BUT! I am suprised that there is no assist system in the game. Like when i save a person by stabbing the attacker with my spear, so my mate can kill the goomba. i meen, he would have died without me, and i dont get credit?
I know that when you are in a fancy clan or something like that, you WILL get credit, but not all are in clans, and we wanna show off just as much as the killomaniacs do.
My point is, that if you play a compedetive game, you want to be able to see how well you do, and possible show it to others well. and an Assist system would do just that.
Further more, i think it would encourage teamplay even more to new players or noobs like myself :-P
P.S. It would also make the peasent phase much more fun, becouse you could see you actually DID something usefull.

K/d or kills don't give.credits, so what is interest to show assist as it would change nothing.
The only credit i see, it's when my multiplier grows up, when my team win.
So if my team win i know that i have made my work.
Otherwise it's only a matter of e-peen.

Assist is what Warband lacks, but I think it would be very hard, pretty impossible to implement it to the game.

It would change a lot.
When there is a brawl, especially with an enemy and 4 teammates by your side, you get a lot of time people who assault the enemy like vultures on dead meat, and spam feints not careing about the others.
This option would reduce the amount of "vultures" and suggest cooperation.
I know that cRPG promotes already teamwork (in order to get the multiplier), but some people thinks also that killing more enemy bring more money.
Also yes i'm not accusing anyone, I saw in my experience a lot of people who always did their best to cooperate, but also people who didn't.

Aparently it would be possible to implement but may cause extra lag on the server. I think we should give it a test.

That was what I thought of, too.
My fully plated tincan with a plated charger that assist teammates by carefully bumping down enemies and drawing the attention of the archers and infantries a-like, or flank them, use the horse hoof sound to distract the enemies, keep them paranoid, and sometimes they'll even turn my way so they were struck down by other teammates.
But of course, some appreciated my help, some just tab'd and say "Gear you suck, fully plated homo with one-one kd ratio?"
I'd be a happy man if the assist count will be implemented one day. Nothing stops me from hoping, though, right?

No, when you win, your multiplier goes up. Not the other way around, and how does a team win on battle servers? By killing the other team.
Take a psychology class, you'd learn that something as simple as an assist system would have a dramatic effect on players. The e-peen is still a part of the ego, even if it's just virtually, and the ego is a sensitive little child that needs to be nurtured.

Nope.

This would not increase teamwork, ppl will jump and gang enemy in the same way to make their assist count grow up.
And i insist if the win of your team and a +1 on your multi is not enough then that means that you want some reward for your e-peen i don't see any other reward.

I can see that there are different oppinions about it, but it seems that most are for an assist system.
It is understandable that some might just try get as many assists as posible by just rushing in, thats a good argument agenst the system i would say.
But i think it will bring alot more GOOD STUFF to the game. Like people actually care to defend their archers, ride down people, pick knockdown weapons and first of all not chargeing mindlessly in to try get that one kill to save your dignity when you have 0 kills and 5 deaths.

good players are doing this even while they are not being rewarded for it :)

That's what i call good players, not the one with biggest k/d.
But Tausen, i like that you try to bring idea to make the game more enjoyable, someway to force ppl to do their best for the team.

after some time some of the people learn to play as team, at least those, who enjoy having multiplicator :P
