Search didn't yield anything, so I'll make this a suggestions, although you could just as easily consider this a bug.
Archers wielding large of weapons have an odd problem of having about 25% of their reticule swallowed up by said larger weapons strapped to their back in 3rd person view. I've been using an iron staff, but other big weapons are sure to do it to different degrees as well. I didn't use it before the patch, so it may be a problem caused by the new animation.
Can the weapon either be removed during firing, permanently, or can some other workaround be used?

Dont use such weapons as an archer  ?

I've already reported this bug. No response yet.

Or we get rid of 3rd person view, only first person from now on in both melee and archery.

They should also add a backview mirror on the top side of the screen, so you could see people sneaking from behind.

Maybe this is part of the archer nerf :D

Option a) Use 1st person
Option b) Lay it on the ground. And yes, useless leachers who spawn without weapon will steal it.
-
The aiming reticule isn't even in the correct place for most ranged weapons in third person. It usually fires a bit lower than the reticule shows. You can always get used to shooting with the weapon on your back, and don't forget that there is a zoom function (shift key).

So I'll just use the most expensive weapon I can equip will make then pay the upkeep...

Flags with «carry» function. Find your weapon and try unmark this flag.

It doesn't work with the crpg item txt file.
Could edit it manually but I don't know which number to change.

None of that resolves this problem in the slightest. If a serious archer doesn't know how to zoom, God help them.
The bottom of the reticule, the most important part as you point out, is totally blocked. You're suggesting that I just "get used to it"? I might as well get used to playing without a reticule at all, or hell, maybe blindfolded. That's absurd. :|
All this would require would be an axis shift, tilting the weapons on the back an additional five to ten degrees clockwise. That, or don't show them at all while ranged weapons are equipped.

Its possible with Morgh's Tools. Just think a little how to use it.
